Personal Home Alarms & Security System Information
All of my online banking/credit cards/loan accounts, etc. have all started to require you to pick one of THEIR security questions. The choices that I get as security qestions are: What is your mothers maiden name? What is your first nephew's first name? and What is your paternal grandmothers first name? A few more, but they all basically revolve around names of people, etc. I'm sure that everyone is familliar with what I am talking about. I have a real problem with these questions! Anyone in your family knows all the answers! Also, many people participate in genealogy and share their family tress with distantly related relatives, and some even post theirs onto the internet, where they are available for anyone. Again, anyone who can gather family tree data now has all the information needed.
Why then are we now REQUIRED to answer the security questions of the banks? Especially on the sites where knowing the security question answer gains access to resest the user's password?
A client refuses to pay 129.00 for monitoring services that we performed at his home. Can the company put a lien on th property instead of going to small claims court?
My car alarm is acting crazy and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to get it fixed in san antonio.
Since you know which asiles you were in and the time frame you were in the store… are cusotmers allowed to veiw this type of thing?
I ask again with a few more details…
This happened at stop and shop and it's rumored that people come to that store purposily to steal items and the employees are in on it… in fact the police know this.
I wondered are you allowed to view the video tape with the store manager. This happened to my mom, she knows she had it with her before she went into the store and shortly before it disappeared, whcih she noticed after she checked out. She did have more than one bag with her so she didn't notice it as quickly as she would have if it were her only bag but she did have her hands on it and looked through it while she was in the store.
It had her medication, passport, credit cards, checks, and many many random things, papers with personal information , even her socail was in there because of her duplicate checks, she had written one to the irs
She had it at the top of the shopping cart you know were you would put a kid if you had one small enough that "seat" and there was one asile in perticular where she remembered a "couple" that won't move, arguing over bread so she couldn't get to the bread she wanted without stepping away from her cart.
Is she allowed to or does she have a right to view herself in the store in those asiles, she knows from the receipt info. when she was in the store and when she left.
when she asked at customer service the girl behind the counter told her NO! before she even finished asking her question about her lost bag, and other employees were near by smerking about something… someone "took" a lot more than just cash! She was hoping someone would at least turn it in with out the money.
She filed a police report, the police were not surprised and are aware of the problem. They seemed disinterested in looking at the video suveillance and said 'they won't be abe to tell who it was even if they do see it on the video tape' I would think that it could at least rule out an employee? won't the store want to know if they have theives amoung them?
Since Bill Clinton didn't, will HiLLary Clinton?
Or would those 1996 security camera tapes of the Murrah Federal building bombing, still be classified for National Security reasons?

How can I completely remove Norton Internet Security from my computer?
I am building a big home and I need to make a decision about which alarm system is better..slomains or brinks home security? Thanks
I have spent two days trying to look up different security suites. I have tryed CNET and other sites but they are all full of it. The editors always have there favorit picks (who ever pays them the most), but the user reviews are often less than half of what the editors give. For example: I checked Norton 360 on CNET. The editor gives it a score of 8.0 out of a possible 10. The users give it a 4.2 out of 10 with 174 users voting.
I have always used Norton AntiVirus but was never happy with it, and thought now was a good time to change.
Please people I could really use some help. By the way I will also be adding my sons computer, as soon as I get the wireless router connected. Thanks for your help…..Scott
By the way this is the second time I posted the same question. The first time ( last night) closed for some reson, I don't know what I did wrong. Also I am not looking for free programs ect. Thanks again…..Scott
I understand that if I put up a password dialog in my php / mySQL website that I open the site up to security hazards like SQL injection in which a skillful vandal could actually change a great deal of data or erase data in my mySQL database.
How can you secure a website that uses PHP / mySQL?

Thanks to everyone for all of the answers.
Do I understand correctly that I should call the following function on all input before making it a part of my SQL query and that this function will take care of any SQL injection problems?
mysql_real_escape_string()
Is this all that I need to do is call this function on all user input?

Instead of that annoying siren it plays smooth and relaxing jazz music instead. I plan to have them to market in less than a month and I am wondering how much interest there might be.
Can anybody access my personal data from the housing benefit office.please explain if its lawfull or not?
This never happened until today.
I am using firefox, BTW. I have always used it.
Anyways, for example, I click on "Mail" on the yahoo home page, the security warning pops up saying:
SECURITY WARNING THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE ENTERED IS TO BE SENT OVER AN UNENCRYPTED CONNECTION AND COULD EASILY BE READ BY A THIRD PARTY.
ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CONTINUE SENDING THIS INFORMATION?

Oh and a long time a go, I made went to internet options, and changed a lot of things to my preference, like how whenever I exit it should automatically clear my data, etc. Today I had to do it all over again, cuz it magically disappeared XD
