I went to start my car this morning and i turned the key in the ignition and the alarm just starts blaring. I had to keep turning off the alarm and the car is not starting at all. Any advice?

I was thinking of getting a cheap Black powder revolver and keep it loaded until needed. I’m the only one in my house so others touching it won’t be in any concern.

Does black powder expire? How long should keep it in storage until it needs to be re-loaded and cleaned without shooting it?

I have seen a letter which states Virgin are giving out details of people using P2P programs, so that they maybe prosecuted.

@Roharme - Recently the laid a trap by uploading a Oscar Award Film in a Torrent Website and traced who are all downloading it.
This is what happen to my friend but it was a PC game they traced the IP address then Virgin told them whom that IP address belong too.

i need some ideas for an automated security system for home and office. so far we are implemented a finger print matcher and an automatic camera that starts recording whenever movement is sensed in the room and thereafter a call is placed to a cell phone to alarm the owner.

what are some more modules that we can add to the project.

Recently acquired an older RV, and found out the hard way that its pretty easy to over flow the black and grey water holding tanks. I understand the newer RVs have electronic warnings for this. Any good ideas how I can retrofit some sort of sensor to sound an audible alarm when tanks are nearly full?

I recently bought a MacBook, i only used PC’s before this. I used a 320 gb external hard drive to hold alot of backup data, movies, music, ect on my pc. When i plug the USB into my Mac it doesnt not allow me to modify the external drive. It says the drive cannot be modified, and all the folders have locks on them. Any ideas how to unlock the drive?

There is a politically correct answer to this question but,I can’t be the only one who’s noticed. Many have seen the Brinks Home Security commercials where there is always a "white" criminal outside the window watching the would be victims waiting to break the door or window during a forced entry. The victims are also "white". The alarm goes off and they run like petty thieves. I don’t think Brinks can fax a pistol over the phone. Would it be offensive to present a white criminal invading a black person’s home? A black criminal invading a white person’s home? Would it be offensive to present a potential real life scenario including a very possible mix of nationalities?

I live in the UK (Bucks). I legally changed my name using a deed poll, last December. I had informally used my new name for several months before executing the deed.

I understand that it will take some time to get used to. But at least two colleges at the shop where I work, are refusing to address me by my new legal name.

One of them even used my old name on the PA (which customers can hear on the sales floor).

I would like to get some kind of court order/injunction for all colleagues to address me by my new legal name.

I would like to do the legal work by myself to keep costs down. I would be confident to represent myself in county court.

The best suits I know of are Tort of Harassment, an Anti-Harassment Injunction, or breach of the Data Protection Act 1998 (Section 4 - I think).

What would be most appropriate?
What form(s) do I need to fill in?
What sort of evidence/witnesses (if any) should I rely on?

I got my car back from being repaired. i noticed that the time was changed indicating that the battery was unplugged while it was getting repaired. i also noticed that my alarm was doing anything. The horn is fine. i went to the local autoparts to get the remote checked and they told me it was fine too. they told me to look on the internet to find on how to reset the factory alarm. i could not find anything. So i figured that the Yahoo ANSWERS community could help.

We have a remote control gate, beams across the gate so that if a car cuts the beam the gate will stop and open again so that the car doesn’t get crushed. Is there a way to do something in the circuits or whatever so that when you drive into your drive way you can close the gate with another button which will close the gate but also deactivate the beams so that nothing will stop the gate from closing. Please could some tell me how this can be done or where I can find some more information. Please, help urgent, its a security matter.

I just did a fresh install of windows and I installed microsoft security essentials. I’ve used it for a while now with no problems. Is it enough for my computer for all protection? Or should I also get some spyware protection or something? There’s also the windows defender and firewall.

Alright, well I’m a good student, love school, and who gets good grades and I haven’t missed a day of school because i just felt like it. I think I was only absent once this year, and that was because of a field trip. I’ve barely missed any school in my life, besides when I was really sick, afraid of the fire alarm in 3rd grade and last year because of my little cousin’s death. Even then I went to school the day right after, even though it was hard, because I didn’t want to miss anything. Anyways, I really want to stay home. Not just because I don’t want to go to school, but because I am stressed out, haven’t slept all night, have loads of homework to do and study, that if I don’t finish I’ll fail, which I already am in Chemistry. Heck, I’ll even clean and avoid the computer. I’ll admit that I shouldn’t have procrastinated, it’s just a bad habit I have that I can’t get rid of. Ugh. And I doubt my parents want me to fail. Is this a good enough reason to stay home?
Well the test I need to study for is a make-up test on Tuesday, so I already know everything on it. And knowing my chemistry teacher, we’re not going to learn anything, or well she’ll attempt to teach, but because of her lack of teaching skills and overall weirdness, she won’t explain anything to us. And the homework that I have is an AP Assignment and our grade is basically made up of our assignments and our tests. I quickly can catch onto things if I miss anything. I’m already staying after for Chemistry Tuesday anyways. The only things we would be doing in AP Euro is either working on a review sheet for our test on Wed. or notes which are easy to get and understand. Thankfully I have good friends who are all good students so if I do miss anything, they’ll fill me in.
