Brinks installed in resale home - Do we have to use their service?
We are moving into a home that already had Brinks installed but we have never used a home security service before and aren’t sure how these services work.
Do we have to activate with Brinks only or switch companies AND use the Brinks keypads/equipment or would a new company have to come in and replace the equipment entirely?
Or should we just stick with Brinks? ![]()
Thanks.

You can use whatever service you would like. When we moved into our new build last year, we used the security service that came with the Toll Brothers home package. They since let it go to ADT. Our pad is a GE pad. In previous homes, we gave the new buyers the name and numbers of the service we used, but they could also choose whomever. So feel free to activate with whatever service suits you.
A new company would have to switch out the keypad/transmitter, but would most likely be able to use the existing wiring/sensors. Hope this helps.
Typically you are taking it for granted everyone knows what you are talking about. In the UK you query is meaningless, sorry.
Nope, no requirement to use any one company, and if the alert is transmitted by phone, don’t even need new equipment. Very easy to change. And if you do not want home security, don’t pay for the service and you will not get it! Bet on that one!
