I am trying to make an AMV on Windows Movie Maker using an anime series I ripped. The two programs I used are DVD decrypter and AutoGordian Knot. However, anytime I open Windows Movie Maker, DEP shows up and closes me down. Out of 4 minutes of song, I’ve only managed to fill 20 seconds because of this. How can I turn DEP off for Windows MM (it won’t let me in advanced settings). Or is the problem some sneaky DVD copyright protection thing? If so, how do I get rid of THAT? Data Execution Protection is driving me mad! Can I get rid of ot completely?

I get error 999 but can still access all the favorite links available and my other emails. I have done the traditional stuff: shut down, restart, disconnect, log out, change password, disengage data theft protection, lowered my virus protection, called my ISP and they see nothing wrong with the my service and no "illegal" attempts to access my computer, deleted cookies and such. I have two other emails and i have full access with those. A few weeks ago i got a message from yahoo saying my email account has been comprimised and need to change my password. so i went to the home page and went on to change my password. when i’m logged in, i can see the preview of the emails, but when i click on them or the link, error-999 shows up! i’m at a loss. i have a bunch of emails i NEED to retrieve, but can’t.

hello, i have an hp computer with a recovery partition, i do have a lot of staff that i need but i do not have discs, flash drives to backup my data, can i create a new partition on my hard drive and then to paste all my data to the new partition created and then perform a system recovery? If yes, after recovery will i have that partition or the recovery option restore’s the hard drive to the factory settings too?

So here’s a summed up version of the story: My college sent me a letter yesterday saying that one of their employees transferring data left some kind of electronic device that he was storing student data in his car, and that it was stolen.

To me that sounds like he forgot and left it in the car, as I don’t feel comfortable with my social security number being just left in someones car. Next they tell me to watch my credit score with the credit report agencies.

okay so i think that my computer has a virus and im really paranoid that my computer is going to crash any second…. i need to backup all my videos, music and pictures and some programs that i have onto a cd…. i bought a CD-RW…. is that the right one to buy?? if you tell me its not im going to scream…. haha well yea im totally clueless on how to put stuff onto a cd….. do i just copy and past? i need to back up everything so that i can reboot my computer.

At my school there was a fake facebook profile created to show students about online safety, after the assembly of course everyone added the fake account but recently one of the teachers / IT techs have started using it to play on games , i have talked to him and he will not tell anyone who he is , he says that telling us would be against the data protection act and that the school could get into trouble.He does not visit other profiles , comment or anything but im sure just being friends with us all is against that act , why cant he tell us his name yet he can be friends with us under a totally different name ?

I am trying to update my AVS virus protection and data base and It wont up date saying a .bin file is missing. I un installed many programs using the installer that comes with Windows. Is this .bin file part of AVS or Windows Vista ? And how can I fix this problem ? I have a restore disk ? I reall don’t want to lose everything .. appreciate your relies..God bless !

I’m not looking to backup my games, I want to just backup my saved game data, so if my hardrive would ever crash, then like a computer, i would be able to use a portable hardrive and still have my saved game data backed-up to keep playing them, rather than lose it all and have to play the games again.

I was wondering if we can have a backup of the brain.Weird but any thing is imaginable in this era.What say?

I understand the basic idea of a raid configuration. Where one HD will mirror another HD and used for back up purposes to protect from HD failure? But is this only useful for backing up data? Can I use it for OS failure protection where if a system file became corrupted and blew up my OS, the other drive would still have a clean copy that I can just mirror back without having to reformat/reinstall my OS?

im very pissed right now i have to restore my phone and i have over 1000 songs in there,contacts,apps,videos,etc. if i backup my data will it be restored back to how it was?? exactly the same? i need step by step info on this im freaking out

Called in sick as morning sickness all throughout the night. So I had no sleep and I was still being sick. I got a call back 15 minutes later from a supervisor asking why I called in sick and whether or not I can return to work same day. Advised I would see how I felt but if I was unable to I would definately inform them. 
I could go back to work as I never got sleep and I was very sick still. 

Returned to work the next day…

I had a back to work meeting where I was told if I was to continue to be sick they will force me to go on maternity leave. Bare in mind I’m 15 weeks. They also said that it’s dangerous having morning sickness this far on in my pregnancy and is a cause for concern. 
I was asked what treatment I was on and was I doing everything to stop it. I did advise that I was having ingestetion tablets and Ginger tea. Supervisor then asked me if I was smoking still. I gave up the day before but I refused to answer. Overall I was made out to be a worse person in the world. Worse than cancer I wish I was exaggerating. 
Supervisor cont meeting. Telling me this and that and that from a company point of view I was not doing everything I should be doing to prevent my morning sickness as I was still smoking. Please let me point out I don’t smoke any more. That smoking causes and exaggerate morning sickness personallly and medically I thought it was based on HCG levels growing. 

Overall for 1 day sickness I have to get my GP to write a report on me for the day I was sick. Is this right?? 

I spoke to ACAS they have informed me that they’re breaking the law. They are breaching sex discrimination act. Employment act and the data protection act as they do jot require all this information from myself. I mean my work doesn’t need all this info.

I just recently bought a new HDD for my laptop, as well as an external 700GB samsung HDD.

I am trying to figure out how to

A) transfer my info to my new HDD and
B) how to back up my data, so that if my HDD were to fail, I could just load all the data from the backup onto a new one.

I can’t hookup both, it’s not hooked up like in a normal pc.

Will the windows backup utility thing do this? will it make it so that if my HDD fails, I can use the backup data?

I’m a little consfused, cause i’ve seen many products out there that make an IMAGE of it, does Windows do this too?
