I have had a white MacBook for a year and a half, and I treat it very well. It is always on my desk, its never leaves the house, and I clean it with eye glass clothes obsessively. My luck, today I accidentally knocked a water bottle over and about a quarter of it poured onto the far right side of my keyboard. I quickly dried it, and everything seemed fine. Then, my speakers weren’t working. I read that I had to jiggle the headphone jack which I did, and the speakers were then functional. However, moments later when I thought everything was going to be ok, black lines streaked down the screen and everything was freaking out. I quickly shut down the computer, and when I re-booted, the lines returned. I shut down and rebooted a few more times, until the screen was just black and a horrible "evacuation" beeping sound began. It sounded like an alarm system that was triggered, and it really flipped me out. I shut it down, and left my house. It turns out I was leaving for the airport for a 3 week bussiness trip, and I had to leave it as it is. I told my wife however to blow dry the keyboard, and to leave it open. I also just told her to remove the battery and unplug it after reading on various sites that that is recommended. However, the battery was removed several hours after the spill. With the black streaks, the sound, and the overall state of the laptop, is there any hope the machine will come back from this vegetative state? Its a shame I am not home to monitor it- its kill me, but I am really praying it isn’t a total loss. I just spoke to my wife, who told me before she took the battery out she tried booting it up. The apple logo appeared, and so did the blue screen, however the black streaks returned. This was hours after the spill. Does this progress mean anything? Please, someone help me understand what is going on (or what will happen) to my laptop.

I try not to rhyme every stanza because some people do not like it. I will tweak it though, so it’s just in a rough draft form as it sits.

i already know about how the native americans drank water at night before an attack to wake up early

Just was given a stray puppy that the vet believes to be around 7 weeks old. Black lab, possibly missed with pit bull, 10 lbs. Anyway, I’m reading that the puppies bladder is such that he’ll need to go pee every few hours. So, I’m setting my alarm clock and waking up the puppy. Should I just wait to see if he wakes me barking? The first few nights we had him, he urinated on his puppy bedding and barked all night, even immediately after putting him in the crate. Now we have a blankie in his crate and he hasn’t had accidents and hasn’t been barking. Don’t want to be washing his blankie in the middle of the night so I’m waking him/and me to take him out. Should I test the waters (no alarm clock) or keep doing what I’m doing? Suggestions please. Thank you, J
Thank you everyone for your helpful advice. I set my alarm last night for 2 a.m. after putty puppy down at 11 p.m. He was sleeping and dry and went pee outside. Then I didn’t re-set my alarm and got up at 7:30 and puppy was sleeping but had a wet blankie. He never barked. Having 2 young kids, I’m SURE I would have heard him as I’ve certainly heard him before. Good news is that when my hubby is back home (he was out of town last night), I can have him take puppy out at 4 - 5 a.m. when he’s off to the gym anyway. Then I’ll only need to get up once. Anyone know at what age his bladder will be strong enough to hold all night?

do you put water in it before butting it in the microwave?

I was so distracted today and I forgot to add water to my oatmeal and nearly caused a fire. I was so glad the fire alarm didn’t go off in my dorm. Imagine 12 stories of people evacuating the building all because I didn’t add that water.

How was your Friday everyone?

I have been worried about losing the roof over my head since my job layoff and other financial factors. The safety net that was in place my entire life is now gone. Sometimes I wonder if God is trying tell me something or warn me or show me would could/will happen.

Tonight, I had a little business meeting at a cafe in Santa Monica. It was dark, cold, and windy outside. The meeting lasted about 45 minutes to an hour, and when I was about to leave, I noticed on the table that water had been consistently dripping on my car alarm remote that short-circuited. I had maybe a dollar left in my wallet, so I couldn’t call a tow truck or a taxi when my car wouldn’t start with the alarm blaring. Moreover, the person I was meeting with wanted to hire me to do some freelance consultation, but the car alarm situation became so chaotic, and the person had to walk in the cold to buy me a new car alarm battery because I didn’t have any extra cash.

As the person was out buying me the car alarm battery, and I was sitting there waiting in the cafe, I was thinking that maybe God is gradually paving the way for me to do without… no more roof over my head, no extra money, being cold in the car… feeling like everything is falling apart.

When I finally drove home, I accidentally spilled water on the car remote again! The short-circuit light went on again, and I had to take the battery and circuitry out again… as if nothing is ever smooth or stable… chaos and disruption again… very symbolic.

If we look deeper into seemingly simple things that happen, there is meaningful symbolism that could be enlightening or scary or prophetic.

It isn’t just that I clumsily spilled water on my car alarm. It’s a metaphor for something more… like God is preparing me for something bad to come that is worse than what I am currently facing with all of my financial troubles.

Now, the person I met with tonight hasn’t emailed me information that he was initially going to regarding my consultation work. It’s like the car alarm became the impetus for depriving me of extra work and badly-needed money. It’s like God or maybe the anti-Christ pulled the rug out from under me tonight as I was trying to improve my financial situation.

I haven’t heard my alarm clock for about a week. I sleep through three and can’t seem to wake up on time. Today, I was very late for work. I am working full time and studying for graduate course final exams. Once I’m up, I’m fine, but I don’t even hear my three alarms. I use three of them: 1) A clock that beeps 2) Radio that is a mixture of very loud static and Spanish speaking 3) Cell phone that beeps.

I need a better…louder…solution. Any ideas? Do you know of an alarm that is impossible to sleep through. In college, people used to draw all over me on School nights (I wasn’t even drunk) so that I would wake up with indellible marker beards and earings. I have a hard time falling asleep, but once I’m asleep…I’m out cold.

Please!! Give me your ideas or any products I might be able to buy that are louder than my current alarm. Is there such a thing as a bed that dumps you on the floor? Is there a system that dumps water (or dead fish or milk…) on you? Help!!

It’s storming so hard here in Florida, the power has been going out intermittently for over an hour now, cars up and down the street keep having their alarms go off, I can hear howling dogs all over the neighborhood. From what I can see, the road is under an inch of water, the drains can’t keep up.

conceiving? 50 years ago I don’t believe there this many infertility issues in women like today. Does this alarm anyone else? Is it the food? The air? The water we drink? Or is it all these factors and more? I do notice that a lot of doctors are so ready to give women clomid and other fertility drugs and treatments that sometimes cost loads of money!! I sense some sinister things going on in this greed driven world!! Anyone else been thinking the same?

My Bf just got my name tatted on his forearm, He’s using vaseline
as needed. It was peeling a little, and was scabbing a bit, but nothing to be alarmed over. It has since healed beautifully and now since using the vaseline, he has red bumps now different sizes? Weird! Okay and I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but, The tat was homemade and I think the needle was used but they put it in boiling/hot water?

Everything free lol just pure pure pure water and without any fluoride or shitty river water( I mean like water without sewage lmao) like Dasani comes from edmonton tap water BLECH No wonder my tinnitus becomes agitated by it…

I have tried the 7/11 brand water and the Montclair, even the shoppers drug mart water tastes cleaner. So what are some other sources of good clear clean water.

My stomach is so sensative and I am thankful for that because it alarms me when I am eating something or drinking something I shouldnt be. So I listened to it. Now I eat mostly raw veggies through sandwiches. I avoid salty stuff and meat. I drink plenty of water. I always eat raw veggies because they taste really weird and distorted when they are cooked idk maybe its just me.

I am starting week 36.
I usually get on all 4s and lay my chest down to get my baby from putting to much pressure in my nether regions . As I relaxed, my back stopped hurting and everything but I felt a trickle come down. I didn’t feel like i had to pee or anything. I know this sounds Text Book but i also Had the urge to clean everything, and I had a false alarm last time. Could it be my water? I don’t remember losing my mucus plug.

why is everyone like oh ya..china will surpass america in like 10 years? that’s physically impossible. Sure, china’s economy is growing at an alarming rate, BUT they still have an unemloyment rate of over 20%. While eastern china may be well developed, the west still greatly lacks basic neccesties and is usually neglected by the government. Also, truth be told.. products that are labelled Made in China are not necessarily developed or designed in China. In fact, 60% of Chinese goods that are exported come from overseas-invested factories, according to Chinese customs data. The United States of America has the world’s strongest army and navy and has a projection force to anywhere on earth. Our military simply cannot be matched. China still doesn’t know how to live in a modern society and is still a socialist country. Because of china’s "growth-at-all-costs" ideaology, the enviorment is quickly deteriorating and fresh water is a very scarce commodity….

I was staying at a 3 star hotel in London and on th second night of my stay the lights went out, It was freezing, no hot water,etc AND the alarms went on 3 times in the middle of the night!!!

I heard some other guest in the morning saying that they should have emergency lights and that he would complain.

If I wanted to complain, who should I complain to? (ie some organization responsible for quality of hotels?!)

We have four cats, the one who is particularly annoying is the part siamese, 1 yr old neutered male cat. EVERY morning, since the last 3-4 months, he comes into the bedroom before my alarm (5-6 a.m.) and will meow constantly. My husband said he stops when I leave for work in the morning, so I got the idea to get up, open and and close the front door then go to the bedroom, close the door and he thinks I’m gone. This has worked, but I’m tired of waking up every morning 2-3 hrs before my alarm. He has food, water, playmates, toys, clean littler box… Don’t know what to do…

i need a digital water resistant watch that also has an alarm clock where can i find one i dont care about looks as long as its not pink or anything

I rent a duplex and the High Water Alarm on our septic tank has been going off pretty continuously for about 8 months now. The only time it goes off is for 30 seconds when it shoots water 15 feet in the air (over the telephone poles when its rained alot) or when it hasn’t rained in weeks. It’s driving me INSANE! I’ve called the property manager about 3-4x a week for the last 6 months and even called the property owner. They say they will send someone out and never have. I’m getting ready to shoot the dang thing. Is there anything legally I can do to get them to come out or to get this to stop???
I keep going out to push the reset button (or off or whatever it is) but it turns back on in about 5 minutes… I know nothing about these things so I can’t fiddle with the wiring or anything.
