What do you think is better?

I have both running on my system now and Zone Alarm detected a virus 2 seconds faster than NOD 32.

Has anyone one else tested these to or any 2 security system together?

I am looking for a third party firewall that offers solid protection & is user friendly, light on resources, etc.

My only hesitation is since I’m not very familiar with computers outside surfing the web, e-mail, basic programs, etc, I’m afraid that I will give access to bad "people" and programs. Like for instance, on the Zone Alarm and I’m sure other firewalls, the pop ups come up to ask if you want to accept or deny access. If they randomly come up, how do I be positive that the program is safe? If I said "ok" by accident, it’s then possible for pretty bad things to happen to my computer, correct?

Any input for a beginner would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you can suggest a user friendly, solid firewall that’s light on resources that would be great.

I have Windows XP SP2, IE 6, and I use the computer for surfing the web, e-mail, and realplayer, etc. I have 1 GB of RAM.

I am looking into setting up an alarm…..I have three doors and Three windows that would need monitored. But I want to make sure I go with a company that is good….. Any feed back on this would be helpful

I want to have a secure computer i was wondering if this is enough. I prefer to keep the programs free if you have suggestions.

Should i turn off the Windows firewall before using one of the above?

i’m using zone alarm firewall, but some pages like in ebay.com open very slow. I cant go check fast my item that i watch. But i still want to use this firewall.
What should i do / change ?.

I’m looking for a good free firewall. I already have Zone Alarm installed, but I’ve heard that Comodo is really good. Which of these is better? I keep my program control on low because I don’t quite know how that allow programs to access the internet and access the server works.

When I install zap, i have to configure it. After that, on the firewall -> zones I find a network with my configuration and my IP.
Sometimes, zap tells me that it found another zone (network), with another IP. I searched on the net the IP and it doesn’t exist. Zap tells me very often about the new network, even if it already exists in the zones. The IP is always the same.
This also happens immediately after I install a fresh windows, when I am sure there’s no virus, spy etc. on my computer.

- It is normal to be 2 zones in the firewall, one of them with an unknown IP?
- Does a hacker use my computer?

"Zone Alarm Pro has detected a new network". And I am asked to choose: "use in trusted zone" or "use in internet zone", and a name for the new network. Second time I am asked, if I choose another name, in the zones there is the same network, but with a different name.
the IP is not 255.255.255.255.
the IP begins with 192.168.

Hello, I install Zone Alaram Security Suite. This program shows me that this IP block it. Then I press ok. But wait !! how to know for what is this IP ?? Maybe for my programs, or some thing I put it in my computer that I use it. So please help me with this problem. thanks.

ah i am using zone alarm security suit 6.5 (latest version) and in msn messenger 8.0 i can’t see the display pics and custom emotion. when i install msn 7.5 it works fine but then aftera while it keeps disscnecting. and when i use zone alarm 6.1 with msn 8.0 it works fine .. so guyz do u have the same problem?

Okay, I’ve used both firewalls in the past, but I’m using Comodo Pro 3.0.2 at this time, since the Personal Version is no available.

Thing though is, I’m finding it too chatty, which is annoying to say the least. Mind you, so was Zone Alarm Pro, but perhaps a bit less.

I’ve done the research, and just want to know what others think between these 2 firewalls.

Do you have a preference, and why?

Hi, hope you can help? Whenever, Zone Alarm update starts, any program I am using i.e. when playin a game- the program crashes. What can I do to stop this happening?
