How can I set up my security cameras with HTTP monitoring?
What I’m thinking I have to do is get a static public IP address from my ISP, and I’ll be able to hook up to my home security DVR through a certain port. But I would like to know if I could have it resolved to an FQDN so I don’t have to memorize the IP address.
Any better takes on this? The best solution wins!

You can use what is known as Dynamic DNS. This will give you a FQDN instead of just an IP address. You then need to set up port forwarding on your router to allow your connection to go through the router to the DVR on whatever port it requires. You will need to make sure your security is strong, and implemented correctly. If not, someone can sit and watch your security cameras.
