i always see/hear the alarm going off at my grocery store, walmart, target, home depot, and many other chain stores, but i never see anyone ever get searched. the store workers don’t even pursue them (the ones the past the doors and the alarm sounded) and if they stop the clerks just wave them off. whats the point of alarms if your not going to search anyone that sets it off, thinking its just some error. is there some kind of law that prohibits stores from searching you unless they’re aboslutely sure that you stole something?

I was staying at a 3 star hotel in London and on th second night of my stay the lights went out, It was freezing, no hot water,etc AND the alarms went on 3 times in the middle of the night!!!

I heard some other guest in the morning saying that they should have emergency lights and that he would complain.

If I wanted to complain, who should I complain to? (ie some organization responsible for quality of hotels?!)

I know that for large groups of people, day to day life in South Africa is a struggle due to disease, unemployment, poverty, and violence. From the news, the rest of the country lives in fear behind gated homes, armed guards, security bars, and alarms. That would make me think that go outside ones home is a fear filled experience. But, I suspsect that may a media enduced idea. How pleasant is day to day life in South Africa?

The dealer claims that all of their cars have alarms due to theft on the car lot. When I bought the car, they asked if I wanted to pay 5 to have the alarm activated. I said no, so they deactivated the alarm. If there really is an alarm in the car, is there someway to have the alarm re-activated other than paying Toyota that ridiculous amount?

I haven’t heard my alarm clock for about a week. I sleep through three and can’t seem to wake up on time. Today, I was very late for work. I am working full time and studying for graduate course final exams. Once I’m up, I’m fine, but I don’t even hear my three alarms. I use three of them: 1) A clock that beeps 2) Radio that is a mixture of very loud static and Spanish speaking 3) Cell phone that beeps.

I need a better…louder…solution. Any ideas? Do you know of an alarm that is impossible to sleep through. In college, people used to draw all over me on School nights (I wasn’t even drunk) so that I would wake up with indellible marker beards and earings. I have a hard time falling asleep, but once I’m asleep…I’m out cold.

Please!! Give me your ideas or any products I might be able to buy that are louder than my current alarm. Is there such a thing as a bed that dumps you on the floor? Is there a system that dumps water (or dead fish or milk…) on you? Help!!

It’s storming so hard here in Florida, the power has been going out intermittently for over an hour now, cars up and down the street keep having their alarms go off, I can hear howling dogs all over the neighborhood. From what I can see, the road is under an inch of water, the drains can’t keep up.

Oh, and no VNs for me today. (Yet)

the job i have is so leanient about wehen i come and go that ive gotten into a bad habit of getting up late, usually and hour and a half late for work , they dont care at all but the problem is that i wind up having to stay later or if i dont i lose money on account of lost hours, its so important that i stop this but even with THREEE alarms i do not wake up, its like i shut them off while im still asleep, i go to bed at a decent time usually but its not always the same time and sometimes its very late, any suggestions? i already know that keeping a scedule will help but because iof thing in my life that dont allow me to always go to bed at a decent time i cant really do that! there has to be some way to get up on time come hell or high water.

I run a in home daycare and it is required that when 1 fire alarm goes off that they all do. Is this a hard task to accomplish or a simple fix? All my alarms are already hard wired they just dony all go off at once. Any advice will i have to hire someone to fix this?

A dog at work knocked my ipod touch into a water bowl i took it out immediately put it in a place for it to dry. Everything seems to be working except for the touch screen. My wall paper still shows perfectly all the buttons seem to work. Even my alarms still go off. But i’m guessing the sensor in the screen isn’t working.
Do you think there is any hope? Should i give it another few days to dry out? I don’t want to go out and buy a new one immediately just in case it does come back to life. I don’t know what to do….

Tomorrow I need to be up very early so I can do some revision. I frequently try to get up early, I have tried using multiple alarms, placing alarms across the room, keeping a glass of water besides my alarm and most of the tips that I have got from the internet and they usually do not work! When my alarm goes off i turn it off and get back into bed. Please, does anyone have any ideas about ways to make sure I get up early?

don’t know if it is a factory alarm or not, took it to an alarm place and by law they said they could not take it off. some one once said I had two alarms on it. I bought it used not new.

My car was broken into and the GPS stolen the other week while sitting in my home’s driveway. I’d like to buy some alarms that would signal me if anyone walks through an invisible laser path though I don’t know a good system to pick up. I already have Brinks security and the conventional door / window alarms. So, having this laser "trip trigger" would allow me to shine it in the backyard (which has access to a back alley) and notify me if anyone walks through it in the night.

Any ideas where to pick some up or good systems to buy?

I have ALWAYS been a very heavy sleeper & I adjusted 2 alram clocks. It’s very annoying, it becomes exspensive replacing them. I have tried several different types & they ALL work for a short period of time & then I adjust & I sleep straight through, I don’t wake up hit snooze & fall back out just straight sleep through it. Currently I have 2 clocks with 3 alrams and multiple functions including the ability to play cd’s, I can set all 3 alarms & all 5 on my phone ( all of these alrams at 1 point woke me up just fine)& sleep though them my H often comes home to find me completly out with all the alarms going full blast. Is there an alarm clock for me or am I doomed to replace them every few mths?

my previous car didn’t have an alarm, and i just got a 2000 camry. almost every time someone opens the doors the alarm goes off, but not every time. i know a lot of other people with alarms and they don’t do this. am i doing something wrong or is it malfunctioning? and can i make it stop?

oh, and im pretty sure it is a factory alarm.
