Currently I’m using cc cleaner, spy bot, adaware, malwarebytes, spywareblaster and an systemantic(spelling) anti virus. What else can I get I recently got that security suite virus and I wondering do i need more protection.

Basically, I’ve been running Spyware Doctor for a while. Now it won’t let me run a program of mine and it slows down the computer boot. It’s also a bit of a resource hog.

Otherwise, great software. However, I’m considering at least trying some new software for anti-virus and anti-spyware. Please only answer this if you know. My question: what security setup do you think works best? AVG? Avast + Malwarebytes? I’d like protection against Trojans and the like, and I already have Malwarebytes installed.

so somehow someway Security Anti virus got installed on my computer.
That fake Anti virus spyware thingy keeps popping up.
Every time i go to install a REAL anti virus program it wont let me?
WTF HOW DO I GET RID OF IT!

So, i’m really paranoid when it goes to computer security, and
after installing several anti-virus’ programs and tools, my computer constantly says "Not responding" or freezing, and it goes really slow, on startup and in general.
I’ve installed the following programs lately:
Ad-Aware, G-data, SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes’ Anti-Malware, Recuva, Spyware Doctor and
Spybot Search & Destroy.
Could it be incompatibility between programs? if so, please specific which i need to uninstall.

I have Kaspersky 7.0 Anti-Virus with maximum Spyware protection. Does anyone with this program have problems with data base issues like no update or corrupted updates?

I just installed AVG 8.0 anti-virus to my computer. when i was done i scanned my computer once, which took around an hour, and opened itunes. it asked if i wanted to make it my default sound. i said no. Then i exited out of itunes and saw a box that said a problem has occured while running AVG. can we send data back to AVG for diagnostics ( or something like that. I clicked no. i went back into itunes, downloaded a show episode and got ready to watch it except my speakers weren’t working. They were working before the scan. Don’t worry if you can’t help i’m going to call Geek Squad later. My speakers are plugged in and my computers saying new hadware found but it pulls up a widows installer to help install the hardware and it doesn’t work. I’ve tried many things. Thanks for any help.

its not for my computer as I got a mac but my parents are using windows XP and vista so for those what would the best be.

i got the virus 3 days ago. on the first day, i went in safe mode and removed the virus using hijackthis and malwarebytes; anti-malware, and manually deleted all the registry keys, etc. the next day, i turn on my computer, the virus is back, i do the same to kill it. i also disabled system restore and enabled "showed hidden files" in folder options. but the same thing happened on the third day, and i removed the viruses manually (or so i thought). today, on the fourth day, when i run the anti virus programs, the viruses are not detected. i go in regedit, sure enough, the viruses are still lurking around. i followed the folder directory at where I found the virus in regedit, but when i look in (local settings\application data) it is hidden! am i missing something in my virus termination process? i followed the instructions on "av security suite removal guides" that i found on google. feedbacks from others indicate that the removal guide helped them, however, they did not work for me. please help me. i am desperate.

I have recently got a free version of Zone Alarm firewall becuase my LITTLE sister somehow got a virus and i think i removed it with AVG anti virus but when i turn off zone alarm pop-ups occur a lot, and when i use a search engine, when i click on a result, i will get redirected to add websites all the time. Also, when I watch movies, music, etc the audio and video stops for a split second like a scratched cd, I know this is becuase of Zone Alarm so i want to delete zone alarm. Plus Zone Alarm just takes up a lot of ram.

So, I want to be able to reamove zone alrm and my virus, or get a different FREE firewall, I tryed turning on windows firewall before i got zone alarm, but it turned right back off. I already have AVG anti virus (free) and it great. THANKS SO MUCH FOR HELPING

So my computer has the virus that displays a fake "windows security alert" It is a very good imitation of windows telling you to buy a Anti-Virus program, and when you click download it gives you more problems! I googled all of this, but no where does it say how to get rid of it. Does anyone have any idea.

Oh it also puts Icons on my desktop name "Spam001" "Spam002" and other, nasty stuff.

Hey, I currently have the Data Protection Virus (a program that installs itself and pretends to be an anti virus program). I have downloaded and installed malwarebytes, but it has blocked the program, it has also blocked task managers and will not allow me to start windows in safe mode, i tried to remove the regedit keys but it blocked that program to. HELP?

I just upgraded to Zone Alarm version 7. It won’t scan my NAS device. I access the drive no problem. Can someone help?
I have Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite which comes with an Anti Virus program. I have used it for several years. It is not just a firewall. Anyway, I just bought a Buffalo link station NAS drive and Zone Alarm will not scan the drive.

Does anyone know when Zone alarm will release a vista compatiable version of anti virus? I KNow that you can sign up for alerts but I was just wondering if anyone can tell me a date…thanks

Hi i have just started using the new Ubuntu 10.4 and after being tied down by Windows it’s fantastic. But i need to know if Ubuntu comes with it’s own Firewall and Anti Virus and if not can i download and use Zone Alarm Firewall and AVG Anti Virus. cheers Bob

hi have avast professional, please dont tell to use any other anti virus becasue i have my reasons for picking this my self. though the question is that i want to have zone alarm firewall instead of my avast becasue the zone alarm actually ask you if you want to install some programs and other cool things that avast dosent do , are they compatible and if not what do i turn off in avast so that zone alarm will work fine in my pc?

Microsoft Security Essentials, at this time, is the only anti-virus/spyware software I have in one of my computers. So far, it has done an excellent job. Even though I downloaded it about a month ago, I can say it’s pretty reliable for my computer does seem to be working fine so far. However, would you trust MSE as your only anti-virus/spyware software in your computer?
