I have read articles on how to get rid of the fake antivirus Security Suite, but I can’t run anything on it to do so. I can’t open Internet or firefox, even in safe mode with networking. Also, when I even try to START doing something on it, it will shut down not allowing me to do ANYTHING. Is there anything I can do to be able to use my computer again?

I want to make my Data very secure & safe from hackers & unauthorized people, coz my PC is always connected to the internet, so such kind of attacks is possible. My data ( family pics n some important docs)
Security measures which I have taken so for:
•I have installed Zone Alarm Pro Firewall + AVG Antivirus as well.
•Additionally I have encrypted that data via FOLDER LOCK 6.
But I’m still much worried about data steal from Hackers…
Kindly suggest me what should I do to make my data/files stored in my PC’s HDD very much protected, safe & secure.
(Using WinXP Pro SP3)

It’s doing three major things:

1) A program called "Data Protection" which I think is a trojan keeps reinstalling and loading itself on startup.
2) My computer randomly does the fake shut down thing like old hoax virus’ would do. "You’re computer is going to shut down in 00:30. Please save all work so you don’t lose your data." There’s no stopping it.
3) And I keep getting Spam001, Spam002, Spam003 exe files on my desktop as well as shortcuts to adult websites that no matter how many times I delete them they regenerate.

What is this.. I’ve tried deleting registry keys for Data Protection and uninstalling it but it keep reinstalling itself. I can’t fix this because I don’t have administrative rights. It’s driving me crazy!

As soon as I run the antivirus, the computer tries to shut itself down..
Ctrl alt delete is futile.. that does nothing
to aleviate the problem

I am looking for the best security software for my computer.What do I need so that my computer is completly secure from everything like antivirus and everything.I want to know the best one that is the top of the line.

My computer desperately needs some anti-virus protection and I want to get the best…without breaking the bank. I’ve tried researching various soft-wares but it I can’t seem to get a good consensus or have conflicting data. For example, one site advertises BitDefender AntiVirus as the best but it is cheaper than the other virus protection programs. I know price isn’t everything but still… it’s concerning. So, for all you techno-savy people out there, what do you recommend?

norton sucks. i really hate it. why can’t hp put a better antivirus like avira or g-data? i always have to uninstall the norton whenever i buy new computer and then install g-data

i just bought a refurbished gateway desktop with vista home premium which would be the best free security center for it that is free and includes antivirus and spy ware in 1? i swort of like mcafee my mom recommends bitfender(we have a year subscription for 1 more computer) anymore that yall recomend and why or if you recommend one of these why?

Whenever I go into windows 8 inprivate mode it tells me Windows has to close (even though it doesn’t) this has been going on for a while. Also, when I went to a website I go to frequently with no problems, Windows told me it didn’t open one of the pages because of a risk of malicious of malfunctioning add ons. I used both mcafee and windows new antivirus to scan for viruses and nothing came up.

Does anyone have any idea whats going on? Is it spywear?

I can’t download comodo firewall by itself anymore and i’m wondering if having more than one antivirus will harm my computer.

I have tried everything from AVG (one of the worst antivirus) to Kaspersky (one of the best). I then have this idea of combining them all. I know that multiple security products on one computer isn’t good, causes system instability, but how about taking a bit from each one? For instance avira’s antivirus(the core only), then AVG antispyware (Ewido, probably the only thing good AVG has), and Zonealarm firewall. I know these won’t conflict because they aren’t in the same category. THey may cause my PC to load slower than usual but I think security is more important. I’ve come up with a list of stuff:

Avira Antivir (the core of the free version for antivirus protection)
AVG antispyware (for antispyware protection which includes rookit and trojan detection)
Avast Network Shield (for network protection, this isn’t a firewall, the web shiled is)
Zonealarm Firewall

This is my combination for a full internet scurity suite, I don’t like Comodo’s free one. PLease answer this is you are a professional and don’t answer just for points or I will report you. Keep in mind that I know more security than u do.

so far only avast, g data, avg and avira have been able to do that. mcafee, norton, comodo, microsoft security essentials, etc etc could not do anything to block a bad website. for example fake antivirus — only avast, avira, avg and g-data block it.

Are there any more antivirus that have such website blocking ability?

I installed the zone alarm internet security suite on my pc….and i noticed that it has anti virus and anti spyware in it……
my question is ….. do i have to install another antivirus or antispyware …. or should i continue using just these , which are going with the zone alarm firewall ?
