I’m going to university next year and I can’t decide to study either:
Game Design
OR
Computer Security
My questions are:
What would pay better in general?
Which job is in higher demand?
Which job would provide more benefits/perks?
What do you guys think?
Im currently doing a National Diploma in Computing, going onto my last year starting in September. Then i will be heading onto uni to do a degree in computer security, after this degree what can i then go onto do? I know obviously a career in computer security but what options do i have in this sector?
Thank you for your time.
So, i’m really paranoid when it goes to computer security, and
after installing several anti-virus’ programs and tools, my computer constantly says "Not responding" or freezing, and it goes really slow, on startup and in general.
I’ve installed the following programs lately:
Ad-Aware, G-data, SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes’ Anti-Malware, Recuva, Spyware Doctor and
Spybot Search & Destroy.
Could it be incompatibility between programs? if so, please specific which i need to uninstall.
Thanks.
I’m torn between majoring in computer programming or computer security. I also want to ask, will I be in a cubical in either one of those majors. The cubical is my worse nightmare. No offense to anyone working in one but that’s not for me. What do you know?
Can a career in computer security have leads into law enforcements? If so, what/how/who etc?
Thank you for your time

Then it fixes it self, all back up fully Protected. Then all of a sudden, 15 min later it cuts off?
What is going on? in there a Virus cutting ti off? help?
At the top, where it says it turns in on, I ment Turns it off

I hope to start my Computer Security and Information Assurance degree at Norwich University in the fall. Is there any way that I could start to learn some things about programming and security before I start? I’m interested in getting into the U.S. Cyber Challenge next year. I want to be a Naval officer in Information Warfare, if not aviation.
Almost no experience in any of the above. All I got is Hello World under my belt, but I forgot how to do it.
Some people claim that computer security is being over-hyped. Others say we are practically ignoring it. Still others admit a need for it, but feel that we are violating or ignoring individual rights to privacy. Even more views are: we are just protecting people from their own stupidity, we are just protecting lazy people, the government is exaggerating the problem to make law enforcement or enforcement of regulations easier, it doesn’t matter since the bad guys are always ahead of the good guys, or both sides are blowing things out of proportion.
Is it over-hyped? Do we not emphasize it enough? Or is some part more important than others?
can you give me some information on the significance of computer security to our homeland defense.
this is what a friend of mine told me, nearly word for word……..
” there is no such thing as 100% computer security, the measures you can take can significantly reduce the risk of being a cyber victim but never 100%, even the government gets hacked, if someone wants in your computer bad enough they will get in but that is rare for ordinary web browsers, if you do all you can odds are high you will be fine but never totally ”
that accurate??
im on the internet and all of the sudden it directs me to another page and its starts scanning, it says computer security. and it asks me to download something but if i dont my computer will be infected with viruses. of course i dont do it and i think its a scam but why does it do it???? i have norton, does it protect me from this crap??? and how do i stop this. this has happend like 3 times this month already. thanks
