Okay, I have three programs that were installed on my laptop without my knowledge or consent and I would like them gone. All three are those fake anti-virus protection scams. One is called Anti-malware Doctor. The second is called Security Suite.

One doesn’t seem to even claim a name. I can not get rid of them through the control panel, in safe mode or otherwise. As you probably know, system restore is not possible in safe mode. In regular start-up, one or all three of these programs is blocking system restore. If I attempt to open it it is closed instantly.

I will not wipe my hard drive, I have very important information on it that I need saved.

The way I see it, I have three options. Fix it, don’t use it, use it anyway.

Not using it would inconvenience me. I need my own functioning computer for school and work. Using it anyway will eventually have undesirable consequences, I am sure, and with all the fucking windows popping up it is an entirely unpleasant experience. Fixing it would be optimal.

So, how do I remove these harmful programs and keep everything else?

Thank you so much.
Ran the malwarebyte in safe mode, found stuff, deleted it, it said restart, did (not in safe mode) problems persisted. Ran mwb again in safe mode, found stuff (only three that time) deleted it, it said restart, did (not in safe mode) problems persisted. Running it for a third time, so far has not resolved my issues.
the third time it found two things, deleted them, did not tell me to restart, remained in safe mode. I am now running it for a fourth time, and I intend to continue to do so until it finds nothing upon finishing a scan. After that, if problems still persist, I will try the task manager thing someone suggested.

However, even if that works, I will still have two out of three to get rid of. :/

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I will just keep moving down the list with trial and error until one catches them all. :) Got to the point where mwb in safe mode found nothing. Problems still persist, no improvement whatsoever. Tried the task manager thing. Right clicked on security suite, when to process, there was no option to locate file. Wtf now?

It is saying I have threats, but McAfee says I have none. This security master want money to remove the threats. How do I remove the security master from my computer? I have tried going to the control panel, but it does not show up there. Please help!!

I paid for web hosting and put my data on my website. The hosting plan ran out and I am unable to log into the control panel. I paid to have my data hosted on the site. The question is: Can the host legally keep me from getting my data by requiring me to pay for a hosting plan to get it? I just want the data that belongs to me without having to pay for a month of hosting.

I know I should have made more backups, but some of the stuff wasn’t backed up and I need it.

Dont know how xp smart security installed itself in my system.
How did u remove this software? Control panel doesnt help.

I just had an alarm system installed in our home because my husband is deployed. Now, because of issues with my neighbor, I don’t feel what we have is enough. We currently have the motion dector, door contacts on the front door and sliding door, control panel, smoke alarm and key remote…and motion lights outside too. I’m considering getting the Glass Break Detector and having window contacts put on, but honestly, we don’t have a ton of money to put into it right now and have to do it little by little. We have eleven windows on the ground floor, four of which are out of view of the motion detector. There are also two windows upstairs in the master bedroom. I’m wondering if we need both the GBD and the window contacts, or just one or the other. What is more likely to happen if someone breaks in? Will they try to open the window or break it? Seriously, I’m not good with this kind of stuff and I have no idea when I’ll get to talk to my husband again so I don’t know what he wants. What would you get?

When I was searching on line, it pops up n said there r many virus in my pc. It downloaded itself. It pops up every minutes! So annoying! I tried control panel. Nothing helps! Plz help me remove/ uninstall this crap! Thx

I had Norton and I uninstalled it then I bought "Defender Pro 2008" and so I installed it and now my computer is acting a little funny because now when I go into my space and check to see if I have messeges or something it will say "loading" but it will never finsh and I try to refresh that dont work also I try to go to the top where it say home, mail, friends, music, etc. and it will not give the drop down menu options like browse people or find friends. I try to play that Poker Holdem Application and that will never stop loading either. So I unistalled the Antivirus thing to if it worked then…nope. So i installed it again so I can have back on my computer. So my question is does this sound familiar Has this ever happened to you? why is my computer acting this way? Also, all the suden I cant play videos it just prompts me to download adobe which i check to see in the control panel if i still have it and i do! Or java still have that too. I try to download it anyway to see what happens and it wont let me! Please someone help I use my computer for alot and the fact that i was trying to make work better and spend money on it and now it acts like this just fusterates me.

Details: Defender Pro includes antui-virus, pc back up, firewall, antispy, pc repair, pc recovery, anti spam, private surf, data burner, drive defragger, uninstaller, id theft, id spam blocker, file encryption, and anti scam wondering if any of these has to do with it.

A few moments ago I noticed my security system was beeping, not the way it would if there was a break-in, but a constant beep every five to ten seconds. Checked all the doors, they were fine, but the system was beeping every few seconds with a FC on the screen. I disarmed it and it said Check System, then I rearmed it and the FC went away.

I have a security system through Guardian and the main control panel says honeywell on it. Any ideas why it was beeping?

This program sucks and it gave me a virus in the process of downloading it. It didn’t find anything to begin with when I ran the scan. I uninstalled it from my computer last night, but it stopped in the middle and the program isn’t listed in the Control Panel Programs file. But it’s still on my Firefox dashboard and on it’s logo on the bottom right hand corner.

How can I delete it the registry file?

I am unable to access control panel and I can not download any programs to get rid of it. Microsoft security essentials will not download. I am running xp professional. I can not afford to have it fixed professionally as I have already dumped money into it that I can’t use.

but it was recovered through software………… I am looking for something for which password can never be recovered. so that if I forget the password I must have to lose the data (not even me who can recover the protection…key or password)

Thank you!

What if someone delete the folder or file which was protected by PASSWORD PROTECT FOLDERS or if someone try to remove this software through control panel?

What is the difference between using Backup and restore center in control panel to backup my data, and manual backup e.g. copy and paste files to another location?

my laptop had virus. I think since I go to facebook I get virus.
so, I put the set up disk in and and I think I got rid of virus.
but, I don’t see my security system that was avast anywhere in control panel.
should I install it again? thank.

hi my comp has two problems..
1) i removed an antivirus program called threat fire but my computer at the security center in the control panel says its still there, i checked everywhere for threat fire but its completely gone i think… but its still there… im currently using avg as my antivirus program.
2) i think i have a malware in my comp, dont know how to remove it and dont think avg can remove it. it shows a red baloon on the bottom right corner and tell me to download xp guard, how cani remove this thing…

I have gone to many sites and get free scans but have to pay in order to remove the program. Is there anyway I can remove it myself? I’ve gone to the delete/change program option on my control panel- but that doesn’t remove it. Thanks for the info!

We moved in a few months ago, and because we don’t have a landline, the pre-existing home security system is inactive. That hasn’t been a problem until this week, when I tripped the smoke alarm; ever since then, once a day, usually at a painfully early hour, it beeps until I type in the security code. Then it happens all over again the next morning. The control panel is in our closet and I suspect the solution to my problem lies there, but I’m not sure what wires to disconnect. Any ideas?

This won’t remove from control panel

I have just subscribe a web hosting service with free .com domain name.
However, they put my real data inside. So, when ppl use WHOIS service to search for my domain, will see all of my details including name, address, hp number etc..

I ask them why, and they said I need to subscribe their Whois Protection Service which cost USD. I don’t like to pay them any additional fees, becoz of their bad and rude service.

Today when I login to my control panel, I suddenly found that actually I can change my WHOIS data directly from my control panel.

So, my question is:
Can I put fake data in? Is there any bad consequences?
Will it causes my domain easily being transferred by unauthorised party?

Please help…Thanks a lot!!

I’ve been using AVG Free for over a year. I recently updated to version 9. It scans every day. All seems well. In the last two days, in the last 5 times of opening my computer I immediately see an urgent message from the ’security center’, that I do not have virus protection and have 42 threats, 3 critical. I try to remove them and can only do it if I buy the program. No, thanks. I check AVG. It tells me all is well. One security shield on the tool bar shows a white cross on red. Next to it is a blue and grey security shield. If I go to the security shield via the control panel all is well. I tried to remove this ‘Security Center’ program but even tho it says it is a trial program is says it is not removable. What’s going on? Suppossedly my internet provider, Cox Cable also has virus protection, Norton. So I don’t know what or which program to believe.

i can not get this personel security off my computer and i can not access into the control panel or other things to down load to get it off it is a fake and just wants you to buy what they are selling so what can i do thank you kendra
