Whats a good webcam surveillance software that has Motion Detection, Email alerts, Streaming video and audio, multiple cams.
I don’t care if it’s freeware or have to buy, as long as its not too much.

All the searching I do comes up with the same crappy software that always crashes. The even crappier software doesn’t crash, it just sucks.

I leave my secondary computer on 24/7, and want to use that one for home surveillance.

What do you guys use or know about?
mjlambie- Thats, just about perfect. I especially like that It’s programmable, and that there are so many programs already posted from other people in the wiki.
I’m going to wiat a day or two to see if anyone else gives suggestions, otherwise your idea is excelent.

Looking to backup data nightly in the event of a crash. Which network drive is best for automatic nightly backups?

How can I tell if windows has a firewall and should and can it be removed?

Prior to the update to iTunes 9 my iTouch synced. But when it restored after a crash occurred it restored a previous file and I lost 2 weeks worth of data. I want to restore to the file it just backed up to.

Is there a software equalent to IBM’s ThinkVantage Active Protection that can be used on other laptops? Basically to protect laptop hard drive from damage in the event of a physical crash of the hard-drive. For example, when you drop your laptop on the flloor, the hard disk shuts down before it hits the ground and essentially saves data.

Restarting, Crashing, Failing, etc. MS Word just stopped working for me altogether after 9/3/09.
I went into event viewer to check out the issue and found these notifications:

PLEASE HELP!!

Before my computer crashed, I had a total of ZERO pop-ups. Now I have them even when I don't have the internet window pulled up! How does that happen?!? I've gone through and changed the security settings a zillion times, trying different options. I have my internet through the cable company and before the crash, we would actually have to click on the IE icon on desktop to access the net. Now the only way to stop the pop-ups from coming through is to turn off the box. I really need some help on this, ya'll. I have Fix-It Utilities 6 installed and I've done virus scans and a number of other things to find the problem, but just when I think I've solved it…boom! Another pop-up. I can understand them while I'm online….but to have them offline too? Someone please help! I'm going crazy here! lol

At least once a day, Zone Alarm (vsmon) crashes. Sometimes when using Soulseek, sometimes when Webroot tries to download. I've tried uninstalling, cleaning caches, and reinstalling ZA, but it doesn't help. It appears the crash blocks all internet access, that's better than allowing all. Still it's annoying. I've tried Commodore firewall, but that has lots of problems with wireless connections. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?
Latest answer now under testing. I'll let you know if there is no crash in 2 days. Thanks for the tip! –Mykel
