locked the doors accidentally, so i don’t have the keys and the copy keys doesn’t open or lock the doors, so the alarm goes off every time i open the door or starts the engine, im asking if there is any button that i need to hit please tell me. it’s 2003 Accord V6 Cp with Navigation 6 speed Manual, please help thank you.

my Escape had a dead battery for about 6-8 months since I wasn’t driving or going anywhere when my husband wasn’t home and I am using it again since my husband has an intern job at the hospital now and I can’t just use this car all the time. So I replaced the battery got it serviced but now it seems the alarm doesn’t work at all, the radio doesn’t work at all, the power locks and doors don’t work when it’s off but they work when it’s on/running.

It’d be nice to have the power locks working like they should again since I often pick up my daughter from daycare and it can be a tad of a pain to reach in and unlock the door while holding onto her to prevent her from running over to whatever she just got distracted by. Reaching in of course is a lot safer for her than reaching around and inserting the key to the on position just to unlock the door.

So.. what do I do?
The alarm came with the car, it’s OEM. My dad bought it new and then I bought it from him, so I’m 100% about that detail.

A storm just hit last week and it got hail damage so I’m having insurance take care of any body work before looking into getting the electrical problems looked into (those have been happening since feb).

my previous car didn’t have an alarm, and i just got a 2000 camry. almost every time someone opens the doors the alarm goes off, but not every time. i know a lot of other people with alarms and they don’t do this. am i doing something wrong or is it malfunctioning? and can i make it stop?

oh, and im pretty sure it is a factory alarm.

This morning I woke up to the sound of keys turning in my door lock. Then I heard doors opening in my house and footsteps, but by the time I got out of my room I heard the entrance door closing. Then I saw that the lock was broken in two. I notified the police, of course. I just never thought that this could happen to me. I live in an apartment at the 3rd floor in a 6 story building. The entrance door is made of thick wood, and only has one key lock, no other locks. No alarm, no camera. I have a bad feeling that the burglars might return again in a few days. How can I make my home safe from burglars? Please give me all the tips you can think of. Right now I’m trying to convince my parents to buy a metal door with several locks and alarm, but my dad seems carefree and only wants to buy an extra lock rather than change the door. I think it would be worth it though. I’m thinking of buying a pepper spray as well.
Actually, they didn’t use a copy key to break it. They must have used a big instrument because the lock was pulled out of the door and broken in the middle.
opinionatedmedic: I totally agree with you, but try convincing my parents of that lol. They’ve never let me keep a dog in our flat, and believe me I’ve brought puppies here at least 3 times…

I have a remote starter installed in my car (Nissan Sentra) with a key fob that is connected to the OEM theft alarm. Recently it has been malfunctioning- when i try to unlock the doors with the remote, the alarm sounds. The only way to kill the alarm is to stick the key in the passenger side door. What could be causing this malfunction? I’ve had the remote starter for years so I really don’t think that’s the problem- it’s the alarm itself.

I have some Asanti Rims on my 2007 Escalade and have had the wheel caps stolen a couple times, so i decided to go with a viper alarm system after doing research and determining it is the best. I went to a Tweeter and they also confirmed to me that it is the best. I bought it from Tweeter for ,193.94 including install. When I bought it the salesman assured me it would cover my entire car especially my rims which was my priority. however once I got home I discovered that the motion detector only works if i am right against the front driver or passenger door and nowhere else on the car. the only way to set of the warning system or alarm on any other section of the car is to hit it with a little force. the rims in particular need to recieve a forcefull hit in order to set off the alarm. Does this alarm have trouble working with 2007 Escalades or did Tweeter do a terrible job with the install?
Edit: I called tweeter and the guy assured me that it is at its most sensitive setting. This doesnt sound right to me because I dont understand how an alarm can only cover the front 2 doors

Hi, so my mom did something really stupid today without thinking. Some weird guy went door to door and was asking people about their security systems and home security. but the way he acted was very suspicious, and my mom told him some dangerous stuff. Whats a way to keep us safe tonight. We have a sliding glass door, windows, and regular doors. please help, we are very worried

my car used to beep and the all the lights flash when i push the lock or unlock button, why now it only lock the car but no beep or anything?
Im jst affraid that it might become worse and stop even locking or unlocking the doors.

I have a 96′ Ford Thunderbird, and I can’t lock the doors without the car alarm going off. I’ve tried using the door panel instead of the key chain, and it still doesn’t work. Is there a way to turn off the alarm completely and just use the door locks??

I live pretty far out in the woods, and I had assumed that nobody would come within a mile of my house. I have had a couple people over, but that was during the day. I think I always lock the doors at night (even though I thought I had nothing to worry about). Should I get video surveillance for my house?

Hello, I have a 1999 Saturn SL2 and recently, the electrical system has been screwy. I bought the car a few years ago, and it’s been great. About 1 year ago, the alarm system just kind of stopped working properly, and I just stopped using it… no biggie, I didn’t need it. About a week or two ago, I came home from doing errands (in my fiancee’s car) and we noticed that my Saturn’s trunk was open and all the doors were unlocked. Then while driving it a day later, the doors unlocked themselves and the horn beeped randomly. A few days had gone by, and still the same symptoms - doors unlocking themselves, horn beeping by itself, trunk opening on its own. It also had a small, mechanical-sounding click coming from the rear passenger-side wheel well.

We took it to a mechanic and he cleaned the battery terminals (we had a brand new battery put in only 3 weeks prior) and he drove it and said it sounded fine… hoping the dirty terminals was preventing full-battery power. Well, I sat in it when I went to pick it up, but still heard the clicking noise. He took it back in and finally pinpointed the sound (and probably the problem) in the alarm terminal. He said that it had "gone bad" and it was messing everything up. He explained that we can’t just rip it out, because it would send the car into a security mode and would essentially disable the car.

So, I’m here looking for a second opinion and some possible solutions. I will call a Saturn dealer and see if they know how to remove the alarm terminal and bypass the security "lock-down" feature, but I’m afraid this will be expensive. Another option is just to have the alarm replaced, but this is also expensive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: I have been told by a few "car smart" people that it must be possible to bypass it… but the trick will be to find someone to do it. Do you think that it’s possible? How can I find someone who CAN bypass the system?

Ok i am suicidal all though i have not fully attempted it i have the thoughts 24 7. I do not care about life or death in truth it does not matter. All of life is suffering and in the end you reach the saem goal so who cares how or why it happens. But ehh.. I have had thoughts that i know would be considered crazy because of the moral standings against it. I have felt outside my body and acted without any conscious thought. I have seen MANY quick moving sahdows or things in the corneers of my eyes for years they are never to bad but once i was egtting in my car and a shadow seemed to sprint 400 ft in 2 sec and stand right beside my window. I am very paranoid i hate haveing any doors open and unlocked and i keep blinds closed i feel someone watching when they r not. I always look over my shoulder and pay close attention to footsteps around me to make sure noone is following. I have tryed to sensor my thoughts because i have been afraid people could read them (not kidding) i at first kinda thought it was funny but i continuously monitore what i think just in case. (no dirty thoughts for me). I have noticed that i can think creepy things about someone near by and observe their attitudes and they seem to react 80% of the time. I have gut feelings about things and 95% of the time they occur. I was annoyed by a book page and i over reacted and crinkled it but then it was soaking wet no water came from above me my hands were dry and the page had nothing in it that could burst. I may of hallucinated it or something else… I have (about 47 times) "called" for a storm to come and all but one time they have even though i had not looked outside or watched TV so that’s weird. There are some other things but non to important but it would be nice if you could help bc i know a crazy person does not think they are crazy soo if i think i’m crazy i am not if i do not think so i am so it is a paradox i personaly believe all people are crazy it is simply how well we wear or "masks" to censor our true selves from the view of the world. i am still in control not overreacting or anything and am currently experimenting with sleep deprevational hallucinations hour 37 atm which is probly the only reason i am writing this that and the fact noone can connect this to me as far as i know of. plz and ty

Hi everyone. I’m just wondering if there is a way to protect our windows in our home. An intruder could easily just break a window and walk right in. The doors are protected via the secuirty system but I’m wondering if there is a product out there made to secure windows. Any advice will be much appreciated!

Do you have a home alarm system and do you think it’s worth the money? We live in a good area more importantly there is always someone at home next door or across the road. We just had the system installed all doors have sensors not the windows though. Just want to know your thoughts. Thanks

I was cleaning the battery post on my 1999 Dodge Caravan and when I put the cables back on the battery, all the lights were flashing, my remote just unlocks/locks the doors, has anyone had this problem before? serious help only please

My husband comes home today and says he has to take my suv to work. He says that today when he got home, he exited his vehicle and turned the key to lock the doors. This would usually lock all four doors. He realized that not all four doors had locked, so he unlocked the car and got back in. He decided to trying cranking the car because he was worried there was some electrical thing going on because the doors didn’t lock. Well, the car didn’t start… but an alarm starting going off! We bought this car in Feb 2007 and had no idea there was an alarm! We bought it from a small used dealership, so I don’t think they will know what’s going on either. So we are thinking that this alarm that has suddenly starting working is preventing the car from being cranked. Even though he used the key to enter the car and to try and start it. We don’t have a remote thing, so that worries me. Our system in the Durango required the remote to work! So what is going on? And why is it suddenly "working"? Also, who should I call for professional help with the issue? Just a regular garage?

Oh, yeah, It’s a 1997 Honda Accord.
I intend to remove it, since we have doing okay "without" it for a year now. I am just confused on why it just started working. Also, could there be a switch or something that we can push to be able to start it? It’s all so confusing!
Ok… we found a black button on the bottom of the dashboard. Pressed and held it and then cranked the car. The alarm went off and the car started. killed the car, got out, locked the doors, and then unlocked the doors, to test the alarm. The car cranked without having to push the button again. So it’s fixed for now.

Mine says "Go Away!" after we got broke into, we put an alarm system, bars on windows, motion detectors outside all doors, and 8 cameras! Now the thieves (teen boys) try a new tactic; they knock on our door with a clipboard in their hand. We have a pa system so we do not have to actually open the door, but when we see them standing there (on the monitor), we don’t even bother to answer the door!

Amazingly, when we were installing the cameras, one teenager boy parked across the street from our home, angry, watching us install the cameras. The police said that they would be back! These THEVES feel they had the "right" go to back in a month later and steal what we replaced, again! WHAT NERVE!

I have a new house that has a home security system installed, with motion detectors, an alarm, a keypad, etc. How can I activate it and use it without having to pay a security service to moniter it?
This is a new house, they haven’t given me a code for the keypad, and pushing buttons doesn’t seem to do anything. The keypad does tell me if any doors or windows are open or if the motion sensor detects anything…I just want to be able to set it to go off if there is an intruder.

My car was broken into a week ago and I lost about 900$ of merchandise, Somehow my cars alarm didnt seem to go off. It is possible I could sleep though it but even my neighbors and their dogs didnt hear anything and I live in an apartment complex with our cars parked right out front so its unlikely it went off.

My car only has a factory alarm and its a 98. it goes off everytime i test it. I want to invest in a viper car alarm system, but I also want to invest in a new video surveillance system. They both cost the same but I can only afford one for now. What do you think is the smarter of the two to purchase first and most convienent to have?

Just for the record, Horizon also tested my alarm and claims the only way the alarm didnt go off if I set it is if the door didnt close, and I have been getting forgetful so there is a slight chance I could have gone out to my car or something could have happened where I unlocked my doors and didnt relock them.
The only two places I park my car are my place and my work. but honestly I work with my second cousin doing additions and remodeling and my car is parked at his house all day. It is pretty safe there though. Its kind of in the middle of nowhere outside of the city so I dont worry about it at work. Im more worried about at home when Im sleeping between 2-4 AM.
