What is the best anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-malware, firewall, etc. combo?
Im planning on using avast, malware bytes, and zone alarm(?)
Whats your past experiences with these, what do you use?
Remember, keep it free!

Which would you consider the safest form of security(data protection and hacking) for my business?
1.VPN tunnels (secure server)
2.Firewall
3.Encryption
4.Secure Locks(Non reusable passwords for employees)
5.Secuirty patches

And please don’t say all of them as my boss has said that we can only consider the best option.Thank you :) @no : Encrytion of the data and company network

I recently downloaded it because I heard it’s good for security. The boxes keep popping up though, also I noticed it slows things down, and at start up also.
Im considering removing it because it seems to be doing more harm than good. My computer worked better without it.
I’m running Window xp OS.

I just uninstalled the Zone Alarm and my comp running much better again. I’ll look for something else, although I have AVG which is good, and built in firewall with windows.

Is it safe to start firewall after internet connection is made cause I sometimes get limited internet access because of my firewall. And how can I set it to automatically start after a let’s say 5min delay.

I just did a fresh install of windows and I installed microsoft security essentials. I’ve used it for a while now with no problems. Is it enough for my computer for all protection? Or should I also get some spyware protection or something? There’s also the windows defender and firewall.

a good friend of mine gave me some advice when using public WI-FI ( mcdonalds and various places that offer it ), he said to select ” public network ” which will make my computer, in his words, ” virtually invisible ” to all others there.

he also said to turn off file sharing.

of course using a good AV and firewall as well.

is this good advice when using public wi-fi, and how affective is it at protecting my data?

Okay, so I’m doing my own stuff and all of the sudden from my toolbar I’m getting notifications like "System Danger!", "Stealth intrusion", "Security Breach" etc. And it says all my security stuff like disabled, like my firewall. But when I go to Control Panel to check my firewall, it says its working just fine. WTF is going on? My computer was just fine like 20 minutes ago, Why is all this stuff popping up about Vista Guardian 2010?? When did I even a trial version or whatever? Is this just a scam to get me to purchase Vista Guardian 2010? Cause I’m annoyed because was perfectly fine but I’m worried this might be serious. So confused. Help?

I downloaded zone alarm and want to use it as my firewall.should I turn off windows firewall?
Also will zone alarm work with my spybot antispyware and eset nod32 antivirus programs? will it hog system recources ?Do you recommend using it?

Thanks.

it is saying the website is infected or something. but my firewall is turned off.

Hey, I just discovered that I have SQL Server installed, I don’t remember installing this and I don’t remember ever clicking on it, but I might have had to install it to get Visual Basic, I’m not sure. Does this run in the background or compromise my computer security in any way? Is it making my computer into a server? I remember requests through my firewall but I think I either approved or rejected them arbitrarily. Is it a security risk? Should I uninstall?

Win XP Pro system and i’ve already got Active Virus Shield by Kapersky installed and regularly updated. What other products should i install for total protection? In terms of malware, firewall, phishing etc…. Suggest me a product or a combo please. I would be using the comp for Net Banking and a lot of other sensitive information.

cause my system to crash..someone said it would having both. should I remove zone alarm I put on there.

How can I tell if windows has a firewall and should and can it be removed?

Is it a memory hog? I have the full version and on several occasions when I tried to start a big-filed installation, my computer would crash with the firewall on. When I turned it off, the installations worked fine. I’m starting to wonder about Zone Alarm. What are the pros and cons of it?

I have it plus AVG but I don’t like AVG really. It just takes up a lot of time to load up and I feel it’s making my computer sluggish.

Zone Alarm has the firewall and the anti virus. Plus I have Malwarebytes. Is this good enough?

NO HUGE ANSWERS PLEASE, short and simple recommendations if you must.
Actually, I kept AVG and uninstalled Zone Alarm, IT was dragging my system down, noticeably. Is this okay?

i use win xp pro and i feel a firewall like zone alarm is must in my system

I can’t download comodo firewall by itself anymore and i’m wondering if having more than one antivirus will harm my computer.

Hey everybody, I’d like to know if it’s fine if I use AVG free edition as my antivirus, Zone Alarm for Firewall and Ad-Aware as an spyware remover?

I am just wondering if I can have these 3 together on the same computer working correctly

thanks for your help

I get a message asking me to be sure that my computer connected to the internet each time I tried to activate the norton 360 anti virus software that iI just bought. And, as a matter of fact, my computer is connected to the internet, and I also made sure that my firewall is turned off. Please can someone help me. I have less than 9 days to activate it.

ok so i have a bank card in the zone alarm vault and when i
use bearshare and im downloading some songs , all the sudden zone alarm goes crazy with alerts saying bearshare
is trying to send the bank card to all these ip addresses, when
i download stuff, and it goes to all these ip addresses. I highly
doubt that bearshare would send personal info like that to every ip address. So I ended up with a 130 of these id lock
alerts, so i did a test with comodo ( I know u shouldnt use 2
firewalls but this is a test) and when the bank card alerts came up on zone alarm from bearshare, I opened comodo and it
said something like zone alarm zone labs mantispam.exe
loaded some kind of hook into bearshare which can be used
by keyloggers to steal information. does zone alarm sound malicious or what , I think this firewall lies to get people to buy there product I mean what is the reason for them to use a hook
in bearshare, i think comodo showed what happened and the
vault is a lie.
