I’m looking to get window film for home security. I’ve looked at several websites that give information on the product, but found nothing about the cost. Does anyone know how much it might cost?

I’m wanting to install a home security camera/DVR system. Good info seems hard to come by. I am temped to try the x10 wireless, (easiest looking solution), and also I do have one location that I would like to include, (outside building), that has AC power, but I can not get a wired (video) connection to . Does anyone have a recommendation between the x10 systems and the bundled systems, (First Security etc, Sams Club), type hard wired systems. Is there a good up to date reference book about this ? I have an attic and cellar, although it’s difficult at my age to do much, (wiring/crawling), in the confined attic space. Does anyone have an opinion about image quality/distance transmission of the x10 system ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THANK-YOU in advance for your help !!

I am in 10th grade and have been thinking about what i want to do for a career after high school. I think the job that would be the best for me is business. I am looking to start a business early and now instead of waiting untill i get a college degree for it.
I think that installing home security and security devices shows allot of promise and is high in need right now. do you have any tips on how to start up the business/ what the costs would be to start it. and most importantly do you think that it is a high need/high profit business?

What I’m thinking I have to do is get a static public IP address from my ISP, and I’ll be able to hook up to my home security DVR through a certain port. But I would like to know if I could have it resolved to an FQDN so I don’t have to memorize the IP address.

Any better takes on this? The best solution wins!

I just moved into a new house in Atlanta, GA and want to get a security system installed in my house. I don’t want to get a land line if I can help it, so I’d like to get one that is capable of wireless monitoring. I’d also like to pay less than the per month that so many companies advertise, but I don’t want to pay a ton to have it installed, either. And researching this is driving me crazy because no one will just give me a straight answer on what their systems cost to install and monitor! They all want to send out a "representative" (aka, salesperson) to "evaluate my home security needs" (aka, pressure me to sign a contract and spend lots of money). I know what I need, I just want to find out who can provide it and for how much! I cannot take time off work to wait for some stranger to come walk through my house and tell me what I need. Does anyone know of a security company serving Atlanta that offers good service at reasonable prices without playing games?

I’m looking to buy a 12 gauge pump for home security and hunting, I’m probably going to buy a Mossberg 500 because of how cheap it is. I’ve never fired a 12 gauge before and I can’t wait to train with it but what I want to know is, how severe is the recoil? Does it kick harder than a .223 carbine or a .410, if so how much harder?

My friend is living alone and has recently been victim of car vandelism (all the windows smashed) , and just yesterday her dustbins were cut open and searched through.

Im very concerned she is being targeted. The police are of no help, as they have nothing to go on.
Can someone please recommend anything to help home security? its a rented home so i am not sure if upgraded locks or security lights are allowed to be fitted as they would mean drilling into walls etc..

any ideas please ppl? there are a lot of nasty people out there and i want to help my friend.

every window and door is rigged with brinks home security sensors,in other words you cant get in or out without someone hearing a loud beeping sound. i have two windows each with two sensors a stationary one and one that is attached to the part of the window which slides up. should i put a magnet on the stationary sensor? i just want to be able to open a window without the family knowing.

Some weird guy went door to door and was asking people about their security systems and home security. but the way he acted was very suspicious, and my mom told him some dangerous stuff. Every home security commercial I’ve ever seen, the robber has been a middle-aged white male. I’ve heard that the ad agencies, when they put out these bookings, don’t even contact anyone else except white middle aged males, as if they are forever the only people who can be a criminal in these commercials. Why do you think the advertising agencies only fill these criminal roles with white males, when that doesn’t match up with government data? Why would they actively do this?

I am looking for a company that installs a wireless alarm system and monitors for around .95 a month like Bulldog.
I am located in Arizona and every site I go to is rigged for ADT, Brinks or Broadview.
I am specifically looking for a company that will install and monitor under /month.

when you had a baby did your worry level go way up as far as people breaking in and taking your baby?

We purchased a home security security system from APX in June. They have done nothing but charge different amounts than promised at different times in the month, messing up our family’s finances. We are at the point of canceling the service and contacting the better business bureau!

Any suggestions?

At this point, I am more worried what being overdrawn will do to my credit, than what breaking contract with them will do.

The bank is working with us to dispute unjust charges.
