I have forgotten back up data in my HP pavilion dv6 laptop with Vista operating system and attempted for OS recover (F11), unfortunately i lost my data. Any help or guidance on recovering data is really great.

Is there any way for me to burn about 30GB of data from my hard drive to some DVD+RWs I bought without upgrading my CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive to a multi-format CD/DVD drive? I’m thinking in particular of any software on the internet, free or commercial, that would enable me to backup data from my hard drive to some blank DVD+RWs.

Also, would there be any firmware updates for my current CD/DVD player manufacturer that would enable me to do this? Any help is appreciated, but would prefer answerers with some detailed computer knowledge.

My hard drive is a HITACHI DK23FA-60 60GB ATA-IDE interface, with 5,400 RPM and 2.5" length.

My optical drive is a SONY CD-RW CRX830E high speed CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive.

My computer is a laptop notebook pc - HP Pavillion ze4805us

I was just on my laptop one day when this thing pops up telling me i have all of these viruses, so stupid stupid me i believed it and i clicked okay. now it wont leave my computer alone and it’s not letting me run programs to help it. I think i’m gonna have to wipe out my computer and completely restore and reset it. any ideas? and maybe ideas on how to report this horrible virus that destroyed my laptop?(btw, i have an HP) thanks :( BTW it wont let me go onto anything, including the internet

I have just subscribe a web hosting service with free .com domain name.
However, they put my real data inside. So, when ppl use WHOIS service to search for my domain, will see all of my details including name, address, hp number etc..

I ask them why, and they said I need to subscribe their Whois Protection Service which cost USD. I don’t like to pay them any additional fees, becoz of their bad and rude service.

Today when I login to my control panel, I suddenly found that actually I can change my WHOIS data directly from my control panel.

So, my question is:
Can I put fake data in? Is there any bad consequences?
Will it causes my domain easily being transferred by unauthorised party?

Please help…Thanks a lot!!

how can I find it without paying Linksys……….I had it when I had my last
printer but it "disappeared" and now, while the router [wireless] will send data from
the internet to my laptop, my replaced, new, HP printer will not sync with the router–I have to give the
printer the codes…….my router’s cd is corrupt; have asked for a replacement;
any other options?

My son accidentally ran a backup to the D drive. What are the implications if I delete or uninstall all the data from the HP_RECOVERY D Drive? It’s currently 100% full. Help please.

My computer all of the sudden 2 weeks ago sort of crashed and I need to restore the system, but before I do I want to attempt to retrieve the data that is still on the computer. Is this something I can do myself and if so how do I do it?I had taken it to get diagnosed at Best Buy and they wanted to charge me 0 to do a data backup and then another 0 for the restore. I have the system disks and can restre it on my own. I just don’t know how to retrieve any data that I have still on the computer before I do so. Things like music and pictures ect. ANy help or should I pay the 0 and then restore it myself?
What is and where do I find the hard-disk?
I do appreciate the suggestion and although I can restore a hard drive or something pretty basic I really dont know what anything is or where it goes so very explicit instruction would be helpful. Also It is an HP opperating off of Vista Home Premium

I have an hp pavilian a1483w media center desktop. I also have a WRT54G Linksys router that I would like to use in order to have wireless access to the internet. The other computer in my house is setup with a high speed internet modem with AT&T. Can you please give me step by step instructions on how I can do this? I go to the HELP AND SUPPORT and it says:

Open Network Connections.
Click the wireless network connection icon, and then, in Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
Under Related Tasks on the left, click Change the order of preferred networks.
Click Add.
In Network name (SSID), type a name for the wireless network.
In Network Authentication, click an item in the list.
If this is a security-enabled network, in Data encryption, select the encryption method.
In Network key, type the network key, and then in Confirm network key, retype the key.

The only problem is….when I look to the left there is NO tab that says related tasks. Please help! Thank you!!!!

I have a 2002 Media Center HP and when I turn it on, it never makes it to the desktop before crashing and restarting. It automatically will start to check for errors (CHKDSK) and it gets to stage three, and says it repairs all the bad security descriptors, removes a couple of files, then it says it cant read the security descriptor data stream(didn’t it just repair that?). That, or it says an unknown error occurred, at that point it restarts and it says the same things in CHKDSK all over again. Is there anyway to get the pictures/tax info that my mom wants to get off? We don’t want to pay some data salvage company.

Also, how would I go about buying a new hard drive? Should I just take it into a computer repair shop and let them decide?

I have a desktop computer hp entertainment pc 8200n. I want to add a laptop computer to the network via wireless connection.
