I’m a first time home buyer and I’m just trying to get my facts straight. I’ve already met with my bank and they presented us with a package of information that I don’t quite understand yet. I’m waiting on a time when my husband can be available for a second meeting.

From what I’ve gathered I need to prepare to pay the following:
- utilities (unless partially included in condo fees)
- condo fees (if applicable)
- land transfer tax
- property taxes
- homeowners insurance
- lawyers fees

I’ve been warned to watch out for:
- whether or not things are included in the price such as appliances, lighting fixtures, window coverings, even the hot water tank…
- there is a previously installed alarm system in which the contract would be taken over
- there are tenants
- do-it-yourself renovations completed by the homeowner
- the reserve funds (or emergency funds) the property has (if townhouse or condos)

What am I missing? And how does the realtor get paid?

I got my self as a named driver on my dads insurance policy,and then phoned them up to confirm payments, but the representitive worked out i was not my dad phoning in. when i told her that i was his son and just wnted to make sure weather,they recieved the money or not, she went and canceled the policy saying i had broken the data protection act. she told me they would’nt charge me anything but my dad would have to tell other insurance companies that he had been refused insurance, i just want to know that will this make a difference to my dad’s future insurance quotes?

Police watched video and went to home ower where they live down the street -and owner of other car confess to police that they hit and ran from acident - but here in Michigan we have a no-fault law - My daughters car only has PLPD insurance which means its not covered for any thing but driving it and being insured in Michigan - So How do We make them Pay for All the damages to car -its probable ,000 worth of damage -HELP

my Escape had a dead battery for about 6-8 months since I wasn’t driving or going anywhere when my husband wasn’t home and I am using it again since my husband has an intern job at the hospital now and I can’t just use this car all the time. So I replaced the battery got it serviced but now it seems the alarm doesn’t work at all, the radio doesn’t work at all, the power locks and doors don’t work when it’s off but they work when it’s on/running.

It’d be nice to have the power locks working like they should again since I often pick up my daughter from daycare and it can be a tad of a pain to reach in and unlock the door while holding onto her to prevent her from running over to whatever she just got distracted by. Reaching in of course is a lot safer for her than reaching around and inserting the key to the on position just to unlock the door.

So.. what do I do?
The alarm came with the car, it’s OEM. My dad bought it new and then I bought it from him, so I’m 100% about that detail.

A storm just hit last week and it got hail damage so I’m having insurance take care of any body work before looking into getting the electrical problems looked into (those have been happening since feb).

i got a letter from immigration, they want more information that me and my wife are married for real, they sent the I-797E letter, if i send proof that we own a car together, she is on my health insurance, and she has used it before, and we have filed are taxes together. will this be anuff information ? i own the house we live in myself, she does not pay anything, i owned it long before we got married, we talked about this before we got married she was ok with it, i no american couples that have the same arrange meant and they are aloud to be married ? i pay all the bills ? i pay for everything. we have separate bank accounts, my wife keeps all the money she makes and can do what she want with it i don’t ask her for a dime, i don’t want to have any credit card together, besides that its to late now, because they are looking for the past 2 years record. i didn’t think are marriage would ever become a issue or i would have done a better job keeping records, we have jumped through all the hoops, and this is how we are treated, my wife is so happy with are arrange ments and so am i. she can make her own money and help her family out, i think its a great arrangement, i don’t think its right how we are being treated, i don’t even feel like a american myself, i have given the immigration people everything that they have asked for and this is how they treat me and my wife, i have a full time job and then some and am tired allot, and now i have to track down all these records its making me sick, and now i might have to hire a layer, me and my wife are happy with the way we are living, and now we are trying to start a family, and i have doctor records of that will this help to prove that we are really married ? enough is enough i no i am a simple man i have never been to collage, but i work hard and try to be a good person and do the right thing, i think i have provided plenty of information and have been very submissive to the immigration people i will send this other information, but if it is not enough what can i do, can i strike back if i hire a layer i want to be able to sue them and at least get my money back for what i pay the layer and lost wages etc… think about it if the immigration department would spend more time sending illegals back to there country and less time harassing working people like me and others it would be allot better, look at the mexicans that come across the border and take jobs illegal, and the ones that come across the border and deal drugs, why don’t they do some thing about them, instead of stressing me out and making me feel sick, if i hire a lawyer i want to make some money, go before a jury of my peers, i think most people would agree we have a problem with illegals, and harassing us citizens that are trying to live a peace full life with there spouses after going through all the hoops is not helping the problem. me and my wife are really married we don’t have credit cards, we live simple lives, maybe if we took out great dept together on a joint credit card with 12 % or greaterinterestt that would be great proof, but idon’tt want to have any more dept than i have now, theimmigrationn people can come live with me any time they want i have a extra bedroom, they will see we do the things married couple do, the big ? is being in great dept together really what being married is ?

Ok so someone crashed into my brother’s car last week and wrote it off. The guy called the police to pre-empt my brother doing so, and whe the police arrived the guy refused to give his car insurance details to my brother, only to the Police!

The guy then droveo ff and my brother’s car was towed away. My brother’s insurance company want the driver’s details. The police have those details. The police WILL NOT disclose those details to my brother due to the Data Protection Act. What an earth is he to do to trace this other guy now? It was the other driver’s fault and STUPIDLY my brother did not take the other guy’s registration number! Can you believe it!

I am not too certain whether the police would even give the other guy’s details to my brother’s insurance company for the same reasons.
Please any advice… or my brother will end up being liable!

Our wage slips have recently been changed at work and I have noticed they have got my sort code and account number on for everyone else to see!! Also, it has my name (obviously) address, National Insurance Number and now my bank details, surely this can’t be right, anyone can steal my identity. the backup plan is for 5 doctors offices that decide to consolidate their businesses. they all had out dated computers so they need a whole new backup of all the files from all 5 offices along with a plan for recovery in event of disaster. the files being medical insurance files, email client software, buis. mgnt. software, information applications, and digital images of medical graphs. they need redundant connectivity available, a solution that will allow access to a replicated cpy of the patient information hosted in a host standby server located otside the the central office incase of any disaster on the central site. they need to discuss redundancy, disaster recovery, backups, and how security will exist (hippa laws) and be maintained.

Did you see the news about new laws relating to Theatres not allowed to misquote critics? Well, a lot of laws passed in recent years (e.g. Data Protection Act, banking, investment, life assurance, insurance, financial advice, money laundering, data protection plus several other areas).

Although some may see the principles in these laws as desirable, I can’t help but worry that some beaurucrat in Brussels has more of a say than our own British MP who WE have voted for..

Do you remember voting to give the European Union this kind of power? Do you remember voting the MEP’s themselves? Don’t you worry that whatever laws passed in the EU, the UK has to abide by it (whether they are regulations or directives)?

Sorry, can you clarify this? I don’t see how you have made this connections with regards to the EU overtaking our own parliament. Please keep your answers within context, or at least back it up with research.

Any mass produced alarm system has already been reveresed engineered by the crooks, and the insurance company has to pony up if your car gets stolen…

Why buy an alarm?

Well he came to see me twice in my apartment. We are not close at all. His grandmother and my aunt are close friends but since both of them are in their senior yrs and are ill - the two of us (the grandson and I) communicate thru text messages and to check how his grandma is and how my aunt is doing. 1st time he came to my place was to sell me insurance and at the same time to tell me about his life story then proceeded to tell me if I needed anything he’ll be more than happy to help even if it was just to talk. 2nd time he came over was to ask me how I was and then he proceeded to tell me more about his life, the way he struggled with it and how he handled everything. He’s very friendly and being too open that it’s alarming - alarming bec he’s got a wife and kids and that 2nd time he visited me was after he got out from work and his visit lasted ’til 10pm. Am I just being paranoid?
I just remembered his wife works the graveyard shift while he works during the day time. He also mentioned that he is more of a risk taker while his wife is the opposite. The 1st time he told me he was coming to see me I told him I could meet him at the mall then he said he’d just go straight to my apartment. If he asks to visit the 3rd time I’ll tell him to meet me at the mall or somewhere where it won’t be just the two of us.

The officer did not cite the driver who caused the accident. I have liability, so now I don’t have a police report to give my insurance company that faults the other driver. (It really was the other driver’s fault).

After leaving the parking lot (scene of the accident), I thought about the surveillance camera in the lot and after a quick call to the manager, I now have video footage that clearly shows the other driver hitting me.

What do I do now? I want to file a complaint against the cop for not thinking of the surveillance camera. Plus, I want to mail the footage to the other driver to prove my point. Good idea or not? Also, I will give it to my insurance company, but bottom line, I don’t want to pay anything because I didn’t do anything wrong.

I bumped a car backing out of a parking spot well over a year ago, my car was undamaged but the other car had a scrape about 2"x2" on the paint job. I felt extremely guilty, I told the woman who owned the car I was really sorry and accepted full blame. She said just let it go and we parted ways. A month later I found out she reported it the police a week after the incident because my sister happened to see her one day and the lady said that the parking lot video surveillance cams caught it and it was reported and her auto insurance company wants my auto insurance information now. She gave my sister the name of the cop who filed the report. When I talked to the cop, he said she reported it herself. Regardless, I mailed her my auto and contact information. The whole thing happened 18 months ago. She never contacted me again and as far as I know, my own auto ins. company was never contacted. I’m just wondering if she changes her mind, again, can she still file a claim?

Any advice, negative or positive, would be nice.

I recently started a fire in my apartment. (Candle left alone while I went to the bathroom). I have no insurance. My apartment was not up to fire code. There were no smoke alarms anywhere in the apartment and the only fire extinguisher was one that I bought on my own. Also the water heater is next to the stove. Will any of this transfer any liablitlity to them?
