As stated above, when I try to open a .jar file (a java executable) it isnt allowed to properly execute. Kaspersky has not blocked Java at all, though this file wont open. Kaspersky doesn’t say anything about blocking it, it merely says its trusted. I currently have to pause protection for kaspersky to run this type of file, which isn’t a desired way for me as I very much dislike losing data, and like to feel protected while browsing the internet.

Here are my system specs if it makes any difference.
CPU: 1.83gHz
Ram: 1.0 gB
Kaspersky Internet Security 2010
Windows XP 32 Bit

Okay, so, I got the Internet Security 2010 spyware virus thing, so I downloaded the rkill and the Malware Bytes MBAM thingy, ran a search, and deleted what it told me to delete. Now the Internet Security thing doesn’t come up anymore - but it’s still showing a lot of websites as "restricted sites" and my desktop background still says "YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED: system has been stopped due to a serious malfunction. It is recommended to use spyware removal tool to prevent data loss. Do not use the computer before all spyware removed."

So, is this thing still on my computer? How do I get rid of it?

I’m doing a research on analyzing the weaknesses of various available Internet Security models such as IPSec,SSL etc and then proposing a design specification that would use Artificial Intelligence to correct those problems. Simply the reason behind using AI is to secure the Internet greatly.

I have already identified the weaknesses of the existing protocols and I need some documents relating to Artificial Intelligence. Basically, documents that explain how AI helps to strengthen Internet Security and also usage of AI in other areas such as Home Security, Vehicle Security etc.

Please provide me with the resources that I could access to get these details such as Home Security based on Artificial Intelligence etc.

I downloaded Free malware removal tool to remove Internet Security 2010 but when I run the program and delete I get Failed to set data for ‘CheckedValue’

So here is how it goes. Recently I’ve been tagged with the "Vista Internet Security" Malware. Downloaded SUPERAntiSuperware trial version and got rid of it. I got NOD32 but I mean obviously I need a little more "umphhhh" and meat in my security. What other legit softwares out there could I use to protect my computer?

I want to get rid of Norton 360, and from what i have read Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 looks like the best. However, if i get Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, does this cover everything Norton 360 does? Or will i have to download programs to cover things Kaspersky won’t secure?
Does Kaspersky not cover something that i should have covered?

My computer got the Vista Internet Security virus 2 days ago and I immediately attempted to remove it using the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware technique. It seemed like I had removed it, but now my computer has gotten so slow that it is basically unusable. It takes a very long time to turn on and to open programs, and it seems like it gets slower and slower after every time I restart it.
Are there any options for me to fix this?

I got over 300 viruses in my computer and when I did a system recovery and lost everything and started it back up I loaded my games and stuff back up and my games are now running funny. The games are ok except for the video, it stops running smoothly and starts a sorta frame by frame thing that it wasn’t doing before? I got a Kaspersky internet security package and I’m wondering is that the cause because when I had mcafee I didn’t have this problem, so now I am also wondering have I lost some kind of important windows data because of the viruses and or the new internet security? I can’t open itunes, microsoft word and some other stuff, and when i try, i little window pops up that says: "Application cannot be executed. The file win.word.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?" If i click yes, it just takes me to some website about internet security and buying it.

Actually, it claims it is a virus warning, but it actually is a virus and now i can’t open anything.

I have access to several different anti-virus programs, two which are usually paid for, but i can get free through my ISP or college. So I would just like to get some of you opinions as to which is the best. The programs are:

1. F-Secure (renamed Centurylink Internet Security for ISP but powered by F-Secure)
2. Symantec Endpoint Protection (from my college’s website- provided free for student to install on
one computer.)
3. Microsoft Security Essentials (free from Microsoft’s Website).

Please list these 1-3 in the order you think is best. If you suggest another program please add it as needed.

P.S. I also occationally run scans with Malwarebytes. So this does not need to be suggested.

This is the second time this damn virus has latched into my computer. It removed malware from my computer, and i tried re-installing it, and guess what? It’s gone again. How can I get rid of this thing?

I have Trend Micro on my computer now but it’s about to expire - was there when i bought it. What’s the best program out there that’s easy to use? I don’t want the free sites, I want to pay for something, install it, and not have to think about it or read the manual to get it working.

I keep seeing that Norton and Kaspersky (sp?) are the best, but not user friendly. Any suggestions? Do you need more than internet security? Does that include anti-virus and anti-spam protection? Help!
