I applied to a large company for a job six years ago unsuccessfully, they have sold off their recruitment arm since which has now grown to take quite a big hold of outsourced recruitment my line of work. In a recent brush with the recruitment bussiness I discovered that they still have my six year old CV and used my old work history to reject me for roles which I hold the relevent experience for now. and also passed my old datails to their client. Isn’t this a breach of the Data Protection act and is there anything I can do to get my detials purged.
i want to start my own home security company how do i start?
what do i need?
in a few years. this wont be my main job.
Insurance? etc
I’m 28 and a stay at home mother of a 5 month old. My husband works 3rd shift (nights) We have an alarm and 2 dogs that bark if the wind blows! But I’m so scared to be alone. It’s not just being scared if someone will break in. I’m scared when it storms or if there would be a fire. I can’t sleep half the nights because I’m worried something will happen. It seems to be getting worse everyday! What can I do to get over this? I know I’m just being paranoid but it’s really getting to me. My husband has been working nights for years but this just started becoming an issue for me since the baby was born and I quit my job.
As a junior (in-experienced) Union rep I have just seen a case which shocked me. A colleague was accused of theft, not one shred of evidence was produced, the police investigated and said there was no case to answer, yet the manager has pursued it and had the person in question dismissed.
Right now this person is devastated, racked to the bone, they are innocent. There was no shred of evidence, but they were dismissed on "the balance of probability" that they were guilty. It would not stand up in a Court of Law
They are so concerned about getting another job, will this follow them for the rest of their life? Or will the Data protection Act protect them? At this moment they can’t face going through an appeal, though I am encouraging them to go down that path, I’m not sure if they are strong enough, the shame is too much
To the first respondent; I think you must not be British, things aren’t like that here. To go through an appeal would not be seen as causing trouble but fighting for justice - cultural differences maybe?
I am in 10th grade and have been thinking about what i want to do for a career after high school. I think the job that would be the best for me is business. I am looking to start a business early and now instead of waiting untill i get a college degree for it.
I think that installing home security and security devices shows allot of promise and is high in need right now. do you have any tips on how to start up the business/ what the costs would be to start it. and most importantly do you think that it is a high need/high profit business?

How can I get this virus or whatever off of my computer?
I have verizon security suite and up until now it has done a great job protecting my pc. But now I think i have a virus and the computer crashes after I try to run any programs.
Every time I try to do a virus scan using the verizon security suite, it will start but stay on 0% completion. What can I do to get my computer running again?
I am looking for a home security system that I dont have to sign a contract, that does not cost too much, and that i can install myself. The reason for this is that in todays economy no ones job is safe and i dont want to enter into a contract that I will have to pay for in order to get out of. Can anyone recommend any company that doesn’t require me to sign a contract, and can possible install myself (P.S. I am allergic to dogs so that is not an option)
I have to stay at home to take care of old, disabled relative. It is no longer possible to get along on what we get in social security and disability payments.
I can type, have printer.
I have looked on the net to find work at home jobs, but all I have found want payments for information to go to others places that require payments, etc.
If I had payments I probably would not need a job.
Please help.
long story short, I dyed my eyebrows too dark due to a faulty alarm. I need to remove the color to make it a shade or two lighter. I have NO MONEY. not even a few dollars. so this needs to be a home remedy.
I have already washed my eyebrows about 20times and they are sore now, so don’t suggest me washing them a lot. no bleach, I don’t want to have super light eyebrows when the dye washes out eventually.
all those said "buy"
…. NO MONEY. I am COMPLETELY broke.
no, bleach will lighten my base color, my natural color. when my DYE is removed, when it all washes out, my natural color will have been lightened. NO BLEACH.
not to mention I don’t have spare hair bleach sitting around…. what part of NO MONEY is so hard to grasp? I’m not exaggerating. I have {content}.16, so unless you know of a hair dye that costs {content}.16 I can’t buy it. I have not job and won’t have money for a while.
I was wondering if anyon out there knows what kind of degree or training you need to become a security expert. Not a computer security expert, but more of a job analysing businesses for possible security flaws.
Like a consultant to a major business
I had downloaded and BOUGHT Security Tool to protect my PC about a month back. It was doing a great job with protection. I think one of my kids accidentally deleted or uninstalled it from my computer being that when I click on the shortcut it says "this shortcut has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly." Is there a way I can fix this or recover my Security Tool. It was supposed to protect my computer for 2 yrs. Please help
if i was a IT system admin, done a lax job of securing the systems and hackers had got in and stole info - apart from mayb getting fired.. am i liable under law for loss of data personally??????? or is it the company? (RE DATA PROTECTION ACT OR ANY OTHER ACT)
UK LAW ONLY!!
please help!!!! worried.
I’m trying to look for a job that deals with computer security network. I also would like to look for a job as computer forensic as well. Just seeing if anyone can come up with a better objective sentence than I have…
"To obtain a challenging opportunity as a computer security and/or computer forensic where I can effectively learn and develop skills in my ongoing effect to help grow an organization"
Yahoo! jobs made brief mention of this role in an article on top jobs, and I’m curious what all is involved in the Security Administrator role. I’ll be doing some google searches for this, but I’m just curious to hear from anyone who might already be in the role about what all is involved in getting started (in terms of background, education) and what is involved in the job from your own perspective.
Thanks.
That way, each person would have a unique number. If someone stole a number, a red flag would go up showing that Mr. Jones in Texas is also working in New York. All they would have to do is to see which Mr. Jones data is the newest and target that guy and remove him from the system. Heck, if the fake Mr. Jones wanted to be the real Mr. Jones then maybe a law should be passed so that the fake Mr. Jones is now responsible for all of Mr. Jones debt for the rest of his life (just place a tattoo on his forehead so that everyone can see that he’s a Mr. Jones wannabe and put a lien an any money he makes ever).
Also, we would never need to do a Census because the Social Security Administration would have all the data they need. (Yes, I know it’s a law…I’m talking about a change in the law that would get rid of the Census in place of this).
Sooooo….this would solve ID theft and would allow the Government to count actual citizens instead of including illegal aliens. I know this might have a hole or two that I haven’t thought about…but if those are fixed…then why not do this?
Oh, I know someone is going to say, "A LOT of people don’t have Social Security cards". What I’m talking about here would be a system that would enforce that every citizen of the United States would have a SSN. Actually I don’t know why we don’t do that now.
Jaime - Yes everyone has their own number…what I’m talking about is tracking that number. If you are using your number in New York for your job and for credit and such and I steal your number and use your name and number in Florida…it should set off a red flag showing that there are two of you using the same name and number…see? If someone steals my bank info…my bank calls me if someone from some other city uses it…the see my name and number…but they know I’m not using my account…Social Security should work the same way.
I downloaded a app called malewarebytes and it did the job, but it said some items can not be deleted. And your computer is still infected what do i do?? Please help. This is like the 3rd time this happened to me.
I have some Asanti Rims on my 2007 Escalade and have had the wheel caps stolen a couple times, so i decided to go with a viper alarm system after doing research and determining it is the best. I went to a Tweeter and they also confirmed to me that it is the best. I bought it from Tweeter for ,193.94 including install. When I bought it the salesman assured me it would cover my entire car especially my rims which was my priority. however once I got home I discovered that the motion detector only works if i am right against the front driver or passenger door and nowhere else on the car. the only way to set of the warning system or alarm on any other section of the car is to hit it with a little force. the rims in particular need to recieve a forcefull hit in order to set off the alarm. Does this alarm have trouble working with 2007 Escalades or did Tweeter do a terrible job with the install?
Edit: I called tweeter and the guy assured me that it is at its most sensitive setting. This doesnt sound right to me because I dont understand how an alarm can only cover the front 2 doors
It is the same problem as this question, but I have more information and am hoping for some better answers:

Anyways, it started about a week ago, and I’ve had the car for roughly 6 months now (the Ungo system as already installed by the previous owner). I doubt it matters what type of car it is, but just in case, it’s a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant DE. Anyways. Supposedly the car alarm has been prematurely activating when I’m not around (my sister has been home when it goes off, and she says that nobody is even around the car), and has happened around 3-4 times the past two days alone. It’s happened once or twice before this. Now, the car is making a noise kind of like the ones made when the car is turned off, as well as a soft-ish clicking noise.
I don’t have any money, as I don’t have a job due to the economy being so horrible (oh, it’s killing me), and just so happens that everything else is going wrong now that I’m unemployed, heh. But as I don’t have any money, and I didn’t personally get the system installed, I don’t think that Ungo would fix this problem for free, especially when the system worked fine for 6+ months. Any ideas that I might be able to do myself? Otherwise, do you think I would be able to go to my usual mechanic to have him fix it, or does it need to be an Ungo technician (nearest one to me is roughly 2 hours away ><)
Its like this , a good friend of mines has, for almost the past 12 or so has been recieving some seriously nasty calls of a threatening manner and of a sexual nature. Its shaken her up and she lives on her own, and her job also involves house calls as she’s involved in IT. Anyway the problem is that the guy has sent her text messages, but from a payphone which has the function. secondly he has called her but from a withheld number , she’s logged it with her mobile company, and they have the number on file, but due to "data protection" they cannot give her any more details. The police have been of absolutely no use to her she showed them the texts she recieved , but she couldn’t prove the phone call content of the call. This guy doesnt do it on a daily basis , more on a monthly one… which in someways is more frightening because your when its really over end . Anyways.. if there’s anyone out there who has any decent advice on this , please … it would be much appreciated.
