first off, my apartment complex has been the target of several (more than 30) different thefts and vandalism in the past few weeks with no response from the manager and very little from police, I set up surveillance equipment in the cab of my pickup facing out my back window with 14-16 hours of recording time, after a few nights of doing this i caught something tuesday night, i got a very clear and detailed footage of two mexican guys stealing a license plate off a dodge truck, on the video it clearly shows what the guys look like and it clearly shows the license plate of the car they were driving. I e-mailed parts of the video to the sheriffs departments web site, they replied by saying that i was in violation of the law by recording them and that i could in fact be fined and\or arrested for setting up the equipment in my truck…….WHAT THE H E L L !!!!!!…….Is there any thing i can do with this video legally??…..thx…sorry so long.
I own a 2005 Mazda 6i 2.3L. I came home last night, shut the car off and for some reason my lights are left blinking. All the lights, from the tail lights to the dashboard to the side markers and license plate lights are blinking and they’ve been blinking all night. I’m still on factory alarm, everything else is stock so i don’t know what the problem is. could it be the battery? alternator? ecu? help please?
I am trying to set up a surveillance system to monitor the street in front of my house, but am not very familiar with camera equipment. I am looking for a night vision camera that can see down to the street (about 200 feet away) and has the resolution to get a decent video of the goings on. I don't need to get license plate expiration dates or anything like that, I just want to be able to see if anyone messes with my cars or litters. I'd like one that has a USB cable so I can simply plug it into my computer and record videos overnight directly onto my hard drive. I've read that IR cameras do not work well looking through windows so I'm thinking of just running the cord out my window and mounting the camera just below the window sill. I guess it would need to be weatherproof. Anyone have a camera they would recommend and why? And don't just type it in google (I've already done that) I want advice from someone that is actually knowledgeable about camera equipment and can recommend a specific camera. Thank you.
Anyone that is KNOWLEDGEABLE about this type of camera, please answer. I can use search engines too, the entire point of the question is I want some guidance from someone who has experience with these cameras.
I was wondering if anyone knows any software that can edit video (magnify mainly) security camara footage.
A friends car got stolen (gated community) and of course the complex doesn't know what to do with the footage, and the police don't really care, so he asked me to see what I could do with the footage, try to get a license plate or a face.
Anything could help, doesn't have to be free software. Thank you!
