I am currently using One Care Safety Scanner (Full Service Scan). And my ZoneAlarm Extreme Security scanned it and said it’s trojanware and is High risk. I went to Microsoft.com and downloaded the One Care Safety Scanner and on the same page theres a free Microsoft Security Essentials scanner which I downloaded. My ZoneAlarm Extreme Security is for some reason saying it’s "Trojanware". Heres what my ZoneAlarm said: "Backdoor.Win32.ServU-based was found in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Support\MPLog-03012010-142526.log on 3/1/2010 14:57:38". Any help is much appreciated thanks.
I just did a fresh install of windows and I installed microsoft security essentials. I’ve used it for a while now with no problems. Is it enough for my computer for all protection? Or should I also get some spyware protection or something? There’s also the windows defender and firewall.
At the moment I have two security (anti spyware/ virus protection) systems on my computer. I want to delete one of them, because since a family member added the second the computer has become slower. I have AVG’s free 9.0 version and Microsoft Security Essentials. My question is which is the better of the two programs, that I should keep.
There is this security software called "personal Security" by microsoft idk how it even got on there but its very annoying and you have to pay to get it and i have tried controll pannel remove software it dosent work and i need you help and any reccomendation about good free anti virus security software i could add
Today I received a somewhat old but never used Northgate computer. After installing a bunch of updates from Microsoft, I downloaded microsoft windows xp service pack 3, when the install was almost finished the entire computer froze, I turned it off by pushing the power button but when I turned it back on it started normal but came to a black screen that said ———————–General Protection Fault and a few lines down it says, Verifying DMI Pool Data. I don’t know what to do!
I can’t open itunes, microsoft word and some other stuff, and when i try, i little window pops up that says: "Application cannot be executed. The file win.word.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?" If i click yes, it just takes me to some website about internet security and buying it.
How can I fix this!?
Actually, it claims it is a virus warning, but it actually is a virus and now i can’t open anything.
I have access to several different anti-virus programs, two which are usually paid for, but i can get free through my ISP or college. So I would just like to get some of you opinions as to which is the best. The programs are:
1. F-Secure (renamed Centurylink Internet Security for ISP but powered by F-Secure)
2. Symantec Endpoint Protection (from my college’s website- provided free for student to install on
one computer.)
3. Microsoft Security Essentials (free from Microsoft’s Website).
Please list these 1-3 in the order you think is best. If you suggest another program please add it as needed.
P.S. I also occationally run scans with Malwarebytes. So this does not need to be suggested.
The French, German, & Australia Government is warning that people risk having their computers infiltrated and passwords stolen unless they install temporary fixes from Microsoft or use alternative browsers. All recent versions of IE (IE6, 7 & 8 ) are vulnerable.

The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team has said this for years: "Use a different web browser" (besides IE)

Just as an FYI:
Based on the data, all browsers have security problems, but IE really does have the most

Will Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc, benefit, or will people be defiant?
I was trying to disable the security warnings for windows vista, and I accidentally deleted the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA key
Can anyone find this on their vista and paste the data inside of it?

security updates for Microsoft visual c++2005 service pack 1 redistributable package (kb9732… failed error code 80070424. i deleted 26 gigabytes of data thinking it might have needed more room for the hard drive. help will be greatly appreciated
My motherboard went out, so I bought a new mobo, ram, etc, but the hard drive is still good. Plugged everything in, and it won’t boot up. I get an error, "System32\drivers\ntfs.sys" is missing or corrupt. I am told that this is something Microsoft does to combat software piracy. That’s fine. I’ve done a fresh install on another drive, and copied all my files over. The only thing I still need to do is get all my information from Outlook. My last PST backup was in December, so that’s useless. If there was a way to open Outlook on this drive, and make a backup, all would be fine - any ideas?
I need info for OUTLOOK, not outlook express
Ok,. So last yr I got my BF the Halo edition Xbox. And about a week ago he got the red ring of death. I don’t have the full story but he says he lost all gamer data.
So, I immediately put in my order for the Xbox elite as an early Xmas present. I have 2 questions as we are moving onto our 3rd Xbox in three yrs. (1st one was stolen)…
Is there an actual way to retrieve gamer data if the hard drive is F’d?
And with the new one is there any real gamer data “backup” system? From what I can find the Microsoft mem cards appear to be a one time deal and there’s data loss? And this XB 360 Xport seems to have several issues “reviews” as well.
I just would like a simple & reliable hard drive backup plan now as a preventive maintenance tool for the inevitable down fall of this next console.
If anyone can help me, Thanks!

When I did a scan with Windows Live Safety Scanner, it warned me of a Trojan Horse on my PC. AVG’s free anti-virus/anti-spyware did not pick up this infection. I followed Microsoft’s advice, and installed Microsoft Security Essential. This got rid of the Trojan Horse.
It did such a good job that I am reluctant to uninstall it - but I wonder if MS Essential will conflict with my AVG programme?
I would be most grateful for any help from people who know their way around computer security issues. I don’t!
By the way, I also tried using Malwarebytes to zap the trojan horse - but it did not even pick it up during a long scan
I try to remove this security program for my computer use Microsoft remove program my System is window xp
