Our landlords want us to keep their security alarm system activated but to do so we have to connect a home phone which will cost us money. Can they make us do that?

If I have the most money in the world, what are some of the cool features a home security system can have?

I mean like if you walk on the lawn while its on then it will trip or laser beams pass hallways stuff like that? what is the most advanced Home security system money can buy? and what are its features!

somebody in my house downloaded it, but it doesn’t protect you from anything! It puts viruses on your computer. Does anybody know how i can get rid of it without having to spend money? I downloaded SpyDoctor, but you have to pay to delete the threats from your computer. Very detailed instructions or a link will help me out a lot as I’m not very good with computers.
oh sorry, I said security check instead of Security Tool. It won’t let me run anything unless my computer is on safe mode.

England is becoming the world’s first nationwide panoptic prison, having all it’s citizens on 24 hr surveillance. You wonder just how far this can go untill revolution or referendum occurs, well if the government has it’s own way we will have chips in our arms and money registered onto them within the next decade, this will mean the government has complete control of everything, if you were to break the law they would cancel your money. We need to stand up for civil liberties and this begins with i.d cards! I.d cards were a conservative idea, loathed by labour which is part of the reason they got into power, strange how people change their minds. Bringing in a law so you can’t video or take pictures of the police with a promise for safety from the terrorists, just so that a fully fleged unresricted justice system can be brought in (100,000 "suspected terrorists" arrested not one to be found as of yet). When the government is scared of the power of the people then there is liberty, but when the people are scared of the government/police there is exploitation and unquestionable control. I’m starting to lose my teather with this country but I still love its people, but we need to stop being independant and start coming together as a society, otherwise this system will take everything.

Last week I came home from work and there was a door to door salesman in my house that my husband had let in. He was selling apx security systems. I walked in and this guy and my husband tried talking to me about it, but I was not interested at all. We have never really had problems in our neighborhood and I already pay all the bills because my husband can’t keep a job and when he does gets money he spends it on stupid stuff. He can’t even pay his truck payment, which is the ONLY thing he is responsible for paying. I was going out of town last weekend and was coming home to tell my kiddos goodnight so I could go shopping with my mom for our trip. My husband told me that he wanted me to hear this guy out. I told him that my mom was waiting on me and that we could talk about it later and that I wasn’t ever sure how long I would be living there because I’m leaving him. The house isn’t even in our name either. It’s in my parents’ names. If they wanted us to have a security system, they would have put one in themselves.
I found out when I got home from shopping that he went ahead and got the stupid system WITHOUT talking to me about it!
I was home yesterday and walked back into the bedroom and on the bed was the contract for the security system. I already knew that it was in the house at this point, but my husband had told me that he did NOT put my name on it. My name was on it in the first name position and "my" signature was on there. Ok… it was NOT my signature! I have very bulky handwriting and all curvy… this was his handwriting spread out and anyone could tell that. I am so beyond pissed that its making my decision for leaving his ass a whole lot easier. I just want to know what I can do legally about this. I live in Missouri if that makes a difference.

What would happen if we would all give creditors affidavits demanding that they not report our credit to CRAs in light of all the computer data and other thefts that have helped identity theives? Seems like years ago, individual letters or signed releases were required for each creditor and each store reported or company reported individually to inquirers. With fax machines available, why can’t we start this type of protection again?

It appears that collection agents have sent people who don’t owe debts collection letters and despite the fact that the people have indicated that the debts are not valid and even went to court, they continue to pursue these people. Why, when people send the CRAs a signed, notarized statement demanding that information not be released to anyone for any reason without a signed notarized statement from the person do they continue to give out information, thus compounding the ongoing identity theft investigation? Who has money to go to court?

Is it true that getting an aftermarket alarm will mess with your electronics down the road?

A mechanic I know told me that. The reason I believe him is because he would’ve made money off of me because I would’ve went to him. If he said it’s not a good idea…there must be a reason.

A salesman came to my door, asked if he could install a security system for free if I would allow him to place a sign for his company on my lawn. I’m obviously not going to agree, but when he comes back, I’d like some ammunition to explain why I am saying "no". Where is he trying to make money off me? Is it a service contract for the system? So this is the question my professor asked. The three basic types of surveillance’s that are used by The Department of Homeland Security and other smaller law enforcement agencies are Moving surveillance, fixed surveillance, and combination surveillance.

Moving surveillance is when the surveillance does not take place in one location. If a suspect needs to followed from street to street this surveillance is conducted by officers.

Fixed surveillance can be seen as a "steak out" a one immobile location of surveillance on a suspect/s. This type of surveillance is easier on officers as opposed to the moving surveillance because it doesn’t require them to be at risk by following a potential dangerous suspect. However, it does take more money because more officers are needed.

Combination surveillance is a combination of the two, moving and fixed. This surveillance definitely requires more officers and time because there’s no way to determine how big the operation might get.

These three types of surveillance’s apply to terrorism because terrorism is conducted mostly by people who officers often suspect and when they have probable cause, they can start a surveillance team with the hopes of finding evidence, discover who they communicate with, where they go, where they live, etc.. If a person is suspected of being a terrorist or even being involved in a terrorist attack, a surveillance on them can help officers solve the case or rule them out as a suspect. In addition, an act caught on video can be used as valuable evidence in court.

My current situation is that I am living in a country where I have a visitor visa but I legally cant work here, i’m staying here solely as my girlfriend is here for the next 6 months, so my question is if I earn money through online opportunities is this illegal to earn while i’m here or can I use my Soc Security no from my native country (UK) and pay taxes on what I earn through the UK - I have no clue what the correct thing to do here is?

I know this because I just tried keeping my window open tonight before it was turned on and the system would not turn on because my window was open.

Just so everyone knows, I am not a minor. haha. I am eighteen years old. I just have really strict parents that don’t like me out late.

I just want to know how I can go in in out of the one window in my house without tripping the alarm or my parents being able to tell. They wake up extremely easily, so I would not be able to make noise on the keypad. Our system is pretty advanced I would say, and comes equipped with these little remote pad things that are actually portable, so maybe I could do something with that? The main keypad however, is in my parents room, so there is no way I could have access to that and if the slightest noise was made on it, I would be dead.

There has to be some way to just cut that one window in my room off or just trick the system. Someone, please help a teenager out! I feel trapped! I just want to get out! I would pay good money to actually get a solution to this.

The window I am trying to get out of is a slide window that snaps into another outlet of the window into the wall. Attached to a bracket of the window, are two electrical wires…?

I’ve been tossing some money away for several months now I’m looking to purchase a handgun for home security and well, for fun. I’m not a novice to firearms, however I have mostly older fowl and deer firearms.

I was wondering what the steps are to getting a permit to purchase a handgun, in Iowa.

the job i have is so leanient about wehen i come and go that ive gotten into a bad habit of getting up late, usually and hour and a half late for work , they dont care at all but the problem is that i wind up having to stay later or if i dont i lose money on account of lost hours, its so important that i stop this but even with THREEE alarms i do not wake up, its like i shut them off while im still asleep, i go to bed at a decent time usually but its not always the same time and sometimes its very late, any suggestions? i already know that keeping a scedule will help but because iof thing in my life that dont allow me to always go to bed at a decent time i cant really do that! there has to be some way to get up on time come hell or high water.

I’m quite sure one of my "close" friends (i dont know who) stole my debit card and took money out of my account.0. I think sometime in the past they caught a glimpse of my PIN because it was used at the ATM first try. It was an independent ATM in a convenient store so the ATM didn’t have camera’s, Im sure the store did though. Can I, or my bank look at the footage so that we can see if it was somebody I know? So that I can tell the cops and so that the bank will know it wasn’t me pulling the money out.
Also, if the police get the video, how soon would they let me look at it, if at all?

I have it turned off now but id like to install an external HDD and transfer over like a gig of data on a usb 2.0…….will it hold up long enough for that!?? Maybe a few more gigs??
