I am engaged to be married in a few months. Woo Hoo!

My fiance is a sweetie pie.

However, we do have somewhat different ideas about finances. This alarms me a little, because I know that we would benefit tremendously from seeing eye to eye about money and how to save/spend it.

My future wifey wants to save up primarily for land and a home. I want that too, but to a lesser extent.

One of my goals is to save up a large amount of funds for a hot rod. And, I should admit that I want to also have a nice bundle of cash saved up, just to have it in the bank. I want to have extra money saved up for whatever may happen in the future. If nothing ever happens, I want to just keep that portion of our money in the bank indefinately. It would give me peace of mind.

I hate to admit it, but money does give me security.

How can I fairly and lovingly negotiate with my wife about this important matter? She thinks that I am wanting to save too much money for no reason.

Thanks.

Looking for outside Video surveillance …is x10.com any good?

I’d like 3-4 cameras around the house, all going to 1 computer for recording. Is X10 stuff any good? Anything else better out there without spending too much money? We are having items go missing from the yard, and other stuff moved on occasion, and I would like to have proof on who it is……

take google earth as an example. it provides images of places all over the globe. what if world government organisations proposed to take it one more level and constantly monitor the world 24/7 by video surveillance?

i guess everyone would benefit with less crime but then again..you may interpret crime as something that makes the world go round and 24/7 video surveillance might change our entire structure on various scales.

other not so beneficial factors also need to be considered..invasion of privacy being the basis.

dont respond with answers like "it will never happen because it costs way too much money to fund" .. this is hypothetical

My significant other takes the train all the time and is always coming home late. We have 5 kids together. A P.I. is too much money and I want to find out what is going on. Can I put it in a pair of sneakers?? In a T-mobile dash cellphone?? In the jacket lining? In a watch?? on a few stacks on bills? on a penny and drop it in the jacket pocket? Something that wont look obvious. Someone please give some details & websites on how to go about this.

OK, I live in the city so don't have a ton to cover and my back yard is fenced, but I have a lovely neighbor, who is "insane" and he comes over when I'm gone and walks by and pulls out my plants, I raise and sell flowers. I don't have much money but I'd like to buy some type of movement activated pinhole type camera and turn him in to the police. He is an electronics buff himself, so if I put it up I will have to make sure he can't see it. This has been going on for years, and I'm sick of it. any suggestions ? I have no idea where to start but I want it legally on video. and so I can show it to him and show him I know what he is doing,. He does it in the day time but is very casual and sneaky about it as if he is picking a flower and pulls up the whole 3 ft. tall flower plant
in the summer about 3 years ago. someone came into my very exposed and open front yard and dug up a huge poppy plant between 10-noon in the middle of the day, I don't think he would hesistate to dismantle anything he can see!!! But I suppose if he had to climb up on my roof, that might be a bit too obvious huh >?

I've installed 4 samsung surveillance's cameras. I've networked them to see live video from the shop while I'm at home through the internet. I have a simple player that will record 10 mins at a time. I need to record from the time I leave at night to when I get back the next morning. Don't have much money for further equipment. Is there free or cheap software or something I can get to record as much video as I need for when the shop is closed.
I would love to use the vcr for recording…I need to know how to do this from home, using a video capture card and a vcr? Help me please….

I just bought a '99 Honda Accord Coupe, and I need to get an alarm on it, but I don't have too much money to spend…

Is there a way that an electronics dummy like me can build some sort of a homemade device to jam any type of surveillance equipment that might be planted in my house? I know I'm not paranoid or otherwise, crazy, here's why…

2-yrs ago, the teenagers next door&some of their friends broke into our house&ransacked the place, room by room from garage to crawl space while we were at work (the police found out who it was because of some evidence).

Ever since then, we could be sitting in the house with all of our doors&windows closed&carrying on a normal conversation and, for example, one of us tells the other about doing something&go to do it, a few minutes later, this neighbor will be outside smirking at us (there could be no way they'd otherwise know what was going on).

Is there any way of looking for planted devices? I don't have much money to spend on this type of thing& I'm open to suggestions on what to do. We have a watch dog&alarm system. We DON'T LIKE guns! Any ideas?
When the burglary happened, we had a Black Lab/German Shepherd (who was stabbed in the eye and had to be put to sleep because of surgery complications)and an Akita/German Shepherd (who was poisoned with drug-tainted lunch meat and died a short time afterwards), but now, we have another Black Lab.
