AVG, Kaspersky, Norton or ESET

I am looking for the best protection that wont slow down my computer when its doing its scan. Which one of these have you guys used and what do you think of it?

I have a friend who some how got security suite on their computer and now they can NOT do a thing on the computer. The only thing that happens is security suite comes up, says there are viruses, trojans and worms on the computer but if and when i can get into Norton, norton’s scan says there isn’t anything there that shouldn’t be. I can’t delete security suite from the computer, can’t find it anywhere on the computer but it’s there!!!!!

Because I currently have Norton and I just recently re-dowoaded Java. With the Java download it came with McAfee Security thing.And I am not sure if the wil counter act each other? Or will it make my computer extra safe?

If not I am going to uninstall the Mcafee .

So looking for good computer security not Norton, that is good for non mac computers?
what would the best anti virus be to go with?
its not for my computer as I got a mac but my parents are using windows XP and vista so for those what would the best be.

I have some Norton cd’s I could download or should I just download it from the internet? because I just got Comcast and they said that its free since I have comcast now…Any suggestions?

I have some experience, but not with XP and I can’t find it’s root. Does it have a different name? It pops up at each restart and over-rides config, and only F* and last good config gets me in. i got yahoo music unlimited and dont know what to do, i miss it alot, sitting and listining to my favorite tunes. its been over 3 weeks scince i had it working. i think part of the problem was due to the system backup i created failing and then a virus hit me and it was a moderate level norton detected and eraticated now. so when i went to play music i was missing data and only had 30 second previews of the songs i payed for and subscribed to hear. i did everything i could find with the yahoo music engine help page and media player, not sure what to do, anny help that would result in my retreiving my D.R.M. file would be appreciated.

How do I remove Personal Security from computer when it has disabled my Norton and will not let me run Malware Bytes?

Well i have norton official product on my computer and every time i open it is says about online backup thing. The fact is that i dont want to do that because i don`t want anyone having my files which i believe they don`t have any right to have my data in their pc. What should i do stop seeing that message exept from deleting norton because that`s the next step

I had Norton and I uninstalled it then I bought "Defender Pro 2008" and so I installed it and now my computer is acting a little funny because now when I go into my space and check to see if I have messeges or something it will say "loading" but it will never finsh and I try to refresh that dont work also I try to go to the top where it say home, mail, friends, music, etc. and it will not give the drop down menu options like browse people or find friends. I try to play that Poker Holdem Application and that will never stop loading either. So I unistalled the Antivirus thing to if it worked then…nope. So i installed it again so I can have back on my computer. So my question is does this sound familiar Has this ever happened to you? why is my computer acting this way? Also, all the suden I cant play videos it just prompts me to download adobe which i check to see in the control panel if i still have it and i do! Or java still have that too. I try to download it anyway to see what happens and it wont let me! Please someone help I use my computer for alot and the fact that i was trying to make work better and spend money on it and now it acts like this just fusterates me.

Details: Defender Pro includes antui-virus, pc back up, firewall, antispy, pc repair, pc recovery, anti spam, private surf, data burner, drive defragger, uninstaller, id theft, id spam blocker, file encryption, and anti scam wondering if any of these has to do with it.

i had both zone alarm and norton on my computer, but when i went to update the newest version of norton i had to uninstall my zone alarms. why did it request me to do this and am i still protected?

Yes. McAfee SUCKS.

Norton was better. But the trial ran out and plus, it slowed my computer down.

Well.. McAfee scanned and came across this.. But couldn’t delete it.

I just installed Norton and now my computer is running so slow and crashing sometimes too. Is there a setting on Norton that I can change or something so my computer will be normal again?

im on the internet and all of the sudden it directs me to another page and its starts scanning, it says computer security. and it asks me to download something but if i dont my computer will be infected with viruses. of course i dont do it and i think its a scam but why does it do it???? i have norton, does it protect me from this crap??? and how do i stop this. this has happend like 3 times this month already. thanks

Looking for automated backup software - please consider the following!
- Something that can be set on a schedule.
- Incremental backup after full backup - is it possible to eliminate deleted files folders? i.e. you delete a folder on computer, it is removed from backup? That way I don’t restore and find culmination of unused files/folders.
- Replicates info on hard drive versus using a ‘package’ - some software programs package up backup data and can be restored only with same software. I want to be able to open backup folder from any system (if needed) and have access to files/folders.
- Able to select destination, just just F: drive for example, but F:\Notebook Backup.
- efficient, easy to use interface, reliable, etc!

I have tried CMS software (didn’t remove unused/deleted files on subsequent backups), Windows Vista Backup SW/Retrospect SW by EMC (both ‘packaged up’ backup), and Norton 360 Backup would let me select a destination folder - only to USB Backup Drive.

I made the switch from norton to zone alarm security suite yesterday and i’ve experienced 2 blue screens since. my zone alarm is compatible with my vista so i don’t know what’s wrong. should i go back to norton?
I didn;t remove Live Update because it said it shouldn’t be removed while there’s still other symantec programs in use. i’m not sure what these programs are, so i’m really confused. should i just uninstall zone alarm, reinstall norton, and see if there’s any more blue screens?

My labtop been acting up every since my norton ran out and now every time i try to hook up my mp3 it wont play it will just turn off. It works on my computer just fine.
