I know it’s a scam, they can’t even spell certain words right. It’s popping up every two seconds saying I have viruses…while my Norton Internet Security is running just fine.

If anyone can tell me how to clean this off, that would be lovely.

Thanks in advance!

How do i get an anti virus for multiple PCs?
I bought Norton internet security for my computer online. It downloaded fine. When i bought it, it said that it can protect up to3 house hold PCs. How do i get it to protect another PC in another room?

I just got a new computer, and my dad has norton internet security for 3 PCs, but he is using one, my brother is using one, and my old computer has it. I was just wondering if I deleted norton, or unsubscribe on my old computer, can I subscribe on my new computer?

I have a secured wireless router on DSL, and have Norton Internet security on, and have Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

The computer was idle, but was on and connected to the internet, with the flash drive in it.

Then I noticed the light on the flash drive was blinking as it usually does when I use it, but I was not doing anything on the computer. The drive has sensitive information on it.

I fear that someone could have accessed my computer and was browsing my files. Is there any other explanation of what may have been going on?

The drive seems OK and I can find nothing altered in the files.

The only recent changes to the computer is that I installed a MagicJack, (phone accessory) and a program called MediaRing Talk, which required changes to the registry, and restart.

Is there any way to determine if any of the files were accessed?

I right clicked the drive and looked at "properties" and it indicated when the files were created, but "properties" does not indicate "Last accessed".

Are there any log files I can look at in the computer see if anything was opened on this drive?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

I just found spam in my bulk folder(yahoo mail a/c) and to my surprise i am allegedly the sender. My address has been used to send spam to the same e-mail a/c i.e the sender’s address is mine and the recipient’s too.Does this mean that i have spyware in my computer?Does someone have access to all my data?
I use Symantec Norton internet security but according to it everything is fine.
I shall be very greateful for all your expert advice.Thanking you all in advance.

I have a HP Pavilion and when I bought it, it came with Norton Internet Security and now when I uninstall it and install other Internet Security Suites like Kaspersky, ZoneAlarm, AVG or McAfee, the computer is boggy and it freezes. I had to hold the power button to turn it off.
i uninstalled them one by one when i installed them

I’ve had my 5 year old desktop secured with antivirus, spyware, firewall, adware, etc. I just purchased my first laptop & since I’m now wireless, my paranoia has come up. Aside from the usual antivirus/spyware/firewall protection, do I need to get something with "wifi security", "bi-directional firewall", and bluetooth protection(‘bluesnarfing’ and ‘bluejacking’ can allow attackers using easily available software to hack into data held on the laptops, or use the machine as a conduit for other activities)? With all these different security programs I’m starting to wonder if they’re really necessary. I’m running vista ultimate & IE7 (which have protection & encryption), Norton Internet Security, keep my file sharing "off", & I’ll be installing Windows defender and Yahoo’s antispyware. Is this enough to keep my laptop data safe in a public wifi area or do I also have to get more security like the one’s I mentioned above? My apologies for the long post & gratitude to those who took the time.

Okay, I have a computer that clients use. It is a laptop, and is usally off. So is my laptop. I want a program, Norton Internet Security or something similair that I can configure the settings from one computer and will effect all computers.
I need help.

Thanks

I end up getting a message that appears on the task bar at the bottom of the screen about how "Data Execution Prevention"
"To help protect your computer DEP has closed Internet Explorer"

I have internet security software installed, (Norton Internet Security 2009) so why is this happening? (My lap top uses Vista)

From Windows Help and Support:
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs can try to attack Windows by attempting to run (also known as execute) code from system memory locations reserved for Windows and other authorized programs. These types of attacks can harm your programs and files.

DEP can help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they use system memory safely. If DEP notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you.

Should I do a system recovery or system restore to restore Internet Explorer 7 that was originally installed on my lap top?
Although IE 7 crashes regularly when I use it.

I am trying to block proxy servers on my home PC with my Norton Internet security. I am entering each address I find one at a time to block. Problem is there are thousands of proxies and I could not possibly find them all to block and then enter them in. Does anyone have a better way to do this? Is there an list out there of proxies that I could just upload?
Hi Steven thanks but I am trying to block Proxies not find them

Ever since I installed Norton Internet Security Suite 2007, my computer has been barely functional. Startup now takes ten minutes, launching an application takes a few more, and it constantly freezes up for a few minutes while chugging away on some Norton task.

I don’t want to remove it and have no protection, but this is unacceptable. Is there a way to configure it for bare-bones virus protection that is dramatically less resource intensive? I have a Norton account for another year, is switching to a different product a better alternative? Please be specific in your response, and thanks for your help!

since installing norton internet security computer is not shutting down on occasions when logged off.. uninstalled and reinstalled security and it seems to be the cause…any ideas

i search on google using a keyword. many results come up on the screan. when i click on any of the results an annoying pop up opens instead of that result link…….few of the pop up’s URLs are : www.stopzilla.com, 66.154.9.30, 64.111.196.117, www.craftsman-info, http://team-circumstance.info………all these urls and ip address show up in the status bar so fast……and then one random link opens up….it is happening both in mozilla firefox and IE-7….i read online that it is spyware/malware problem…..so i downloaded and installed HiJackThis malware software from download.com…..it worked but disabled my norton internet security…i had to reinstall internet security and now the problem is back……when i run any antispyware software it gives me a million defected files……can someone help me please? i have loads of my school projects’ data on my laptop and dont want to loose all of it by doing something stupid. thanks in advance

I was going to purchase the Norton Internet Security Suite 2007. I want something that handles the latest viruses & everything else.
I went to read some reviews & they were 50/50 although some bad ones were from people who did not have enough space on their computer for the program & others seemed to not know too much about computers. I believe I had Mcafee in the past & am wondering for all of those out there who have a product that actually works & works well, please let me know.
I am NOT interested in programs like the spybotenator (made that up). No sales pitched, just honest answers from people who have actually used a great product or a bad one I should stay away from. Thanks
Hi All, I do not want a Free one. I have AVG already. I do not mind paying for it at all. I believe it "you get what you pay for". I want complete security. I have never had a problem, but my father also have AVG & his computer is a Mess.

2 years ago, I ordered my comp from HP with a 3 year subscription of Norton Internet Security for up to 3 computers, my girlfriends computer is currently running off of free trials, and is running like hell. I looked around on Norton's site, and all I'm able to find is how to purchase. I have my Keys, I just can't find a download.

i have mcAfee security centre already installed and i am protected until 2010. I want to install Norton internet security 2008 for extra protection. would this be ok?

i had a disk of norton internet security from 2005, i just re-installed it on my computer(forgot why i took it off). everything thing seems to take longer now , computer seems to be a lil slower now. anyone know why and what i should do to speed it up. i already did disk clean and defragmenting and cleaned with ccleaner. thanks for all answers.

heres the story. i bought Norton Internet security 2007 in 2007. i had it renewed and all and recently it upgraded iotself to the 2008 version. i problem happend with my computer a week later (unrelated to the product) that required me to back up all my data and clean install windows. I had to re-install norton, but now that i did, it says there is no Virus protection? and practically none of the options are available. and now my subscriptions is no longer there! help!?
"tsunami"'s answer is making no sense. i bought the program.
