A website that provides online security by encrypting all IP data and masking ports for consumer protection. know of any???
Shall we discuss the issues, please? Does Obama believe port security from acts of terrorism is not important?

Vote 47: S CON RES 83: Menendez Amdt. No. 3054; To provide an additional 5 million to make our ports more secure by increasing port security grants, increasing inspections, improving existing programs, and increasing research and development, and to fully offset this additional funding by closing tax loopholes.

Vote 46: S CON RES 83: McConnell Amdt. No. 3061; To provide funding for maritime security, including the Container Security Initiative, improved data for targeted cargo searches, and full background checks and security threat assessments of personnel at our nation’s seaports.
NB: Michelle Obama worked as a board member for two different companies in association with Walmart to the tune of over 0,000 total. She received the position soon after Obama was elected to the Senate. Walmart lobbied extensively against the Port Security Amendment.
I’m taking a Computer Security class that frankly is kicking my butt this semester. Here is my assignment. This fictitious credit union that I work for wants to network with this other fictitious credit union. Our ATM’s are different. Our ATM’s use DES, but run on port 4744 and their ATM’s also use DES but run on port 3211. So the logical thing to do would be to open each other’s ports on our own ATM machines. But I can’t figure out how to do it. I can find out how to open a port on an Internet firewall, but not on an ATM firewall when two companies are trying to network together. HELP?
Thanks linux, I wasn’t aware that DES wasn’t secure. Thanks to your suggestion I added that to my paper, which is something they probably wanted us to find.
What is a port or service? Some people say to close all ports or service has hackers scan for ports or service.
because my router blocked and dont allow many ports,if i download the zone alarm firewall it will be ok or there are two different firewalls?
Here is my situation: I live in a dorm that only gets one type if internet. They block all sorts of networking ports and SMTP traffic. For example you cannot use any type of file sharing program because all those ports are blocked.
My friend has internet access across town that is un restricted. How can I set up a VPN or use his internet access from my house as a proxy server? I basically need to know how to forward all of my information to him and he forwards it to the internet. the internet forwards it to him and he forwards it to me. Im thinking that all my data will have to be sent over a single port so it wont get blocked. I dont care if it slow, just as long as it works. Web surfing is not the problem. Port 80 is not blocked by my ISP. I want to use programs like bittorent and mIRC and limewire but my ISP blocks those from running. Or if they detect them running I will get banned.
Is there a program that does this? do I have to set up my router a special way? I would prefer to do this as a SSL connection so my dorm ISP cannot tell what im doing.
Thanks
Let's assume that the connecting PC is running a proper firewall, so the concern here is not so much a direct attack on the PC's ports (although that is of course possible to breach as it would be for any directly connected system) but rather the security of the data as it is transmitted in the air. Is there a reasonable expectation of privacy, or can someone with proper equipment snoop on every connection, similar to shared Ethernet? Or does someone need special information to know how to access a particular party's connection, such as one would do to physically tap into a switched Ethernet connection? Or is this just not practical, and we needn't be more concerned with a cellular network than we would with a dial-up connection? In particular, I'm interested in the security of Cingular's 3G and EDGE networks, but it is an interesting general question for other providers networks.
