When a car alarm goes OFF, it actually turns ON. And it already was ready to go on, so kinda was already ON. But still,it does’nt really work that way so why do ppl sya its goes OFF when it really turnes ON??

My friend is living alone and has recently been victim of car vandelism (all the windows smashed) , and just yesterday her dustbins were cut open and searched through.
Im very concerned she is being targeted. The police are of no help, as they have nothing to go on.
Can someone please recommend anything to help home security? its a rented home so i am not sure if upgraded locks or security lights are allowed to be fitted as they would mean drilling into walls etc..
any ideas please ppl? there are a lot of nasty people out there and i want to help my friend.
I have just subscribe a web hosting service with free .com domain name.
However, they put my real data inside. So, when ppl use WHOIS service to search for my domain, will see all of my details including name, address, hp number etc..
I ask them why, and they said I need to subscribe their Whois Protection Service which cost USD. I don’t like to pay them any additional fees, becoz of their bad and rude service.
Today when I login to my control panel, I suddenly found that actually I can change my WHOIS data directly from my control panel.
So, my question is:
Can I put fake data in? Is there any bad consequences?
Will it causes my domain easily being transferred by unauthorised party?

I live in an apartment, sometimes i just park the car where i’m not suppose to park it. I press the emergency button( both signals flesh on and off) , i get off and press the remote to lock my car. After a few seconds the alarm goes off…why is that?
Does it mean the ppl who installed my car security alarm did a lousy job, or its suppose to happen????

i am so confused. most ppl usually get a CS degree in IT and then they move on to whatever there field but i am not really that interested in CS but is this the better path to take than majoring in Network security. or does it really matter. if i get a CS degree than i can move into hardware/networking thru certs but if i do network security it is hard to go the software side or i can get a master’s in software engineering.
We recently had to get an alarm on our home. We believe our neighbors keep breaking in our home, 3 times in dec last yr. 1 time in Jan this yr….maybe 2 times like a few yrs b4 that too..then we got Brinks in the end of JAN this yr. They stopped but in the last 2 months, the alarm been goin off, maybe false alarm, i don’t think so. Brinks been telling me that whatever been setting it off is in the dining area, which is where i walk in the front door. but nobody has broken in the house again yet. But every since those ppl broke into my home several times, i have had people watch my house, drive by jus to check. twice, 2 people told me they saw the same people, same description in my yard while i’m at work, this was the same day it went off also. What are they doin to set off my alarm without breaking into my home? i got every window covered, i have, door, everything. i jus don’t get it.
I live in Orange CA……The one i had didn’t work really well, and i decided to go back to the place where i got it installed and ask them to take it off. I got my money back. I just want to go to a well known place this time.

I suddenly can’t install anything and get the "you do not have access to make the required system configuration modifications. Please rerun this installation from an administrators account" message. I am an administrator, and this is the only profile on my computer. The only thing I could find online is someone said to use the original xp disk and run a repair. Will this screw up/delete anything on my computer?
did a scan w/ avast today (after having this problem) and it found something got something that i deleted. it also found application data\microsoft\clr security config\v1.1.4322\security.config and the about 7 characters i couldn’t read….some other language. it couldn’t scan it. it also said it was a decompression bomb…which i looked up and most ppl said to ignore them….so i just left it alone. should i have deleted it?
I also jsut did a search for microsoft cuz i didnt think i had anything on here by them..not even word. it looks just like other stuff that is supposed to be on here… winsxs manifests and policies but i did find this and it was created about 2 minutes ago…. WT_NVR

i cannot install anything. i do not have those programs. i cannot find it manually…i can find up to the security.config.cch but i cannot open that file…and i don’t see the file with the characters.

i work in a casino in the gambling industry.
i recieved a complaint about me from a customer, and i have my full name in the letter of complaint. how does he know my full name? we have no name-badge or anything. is it not against the data protection act? if the company gave out my full name? or any of my colleagues
once again: i work in the gambling industry. ppl loose a lot money and blame the dealers most of the time 
i belive its totally different, im pretty sure putting on the web or listing in papers is against the law
