Ok. I was on the internet, and all of a sudden a balloon pops up saying ‘your computer is at risk’. it wont let me turn my firewall on or anything .and this thing called security center alert says screeb.grab.j.exe is trying to enter my computer. but my only option is to click activate protection. i dont know what to do. i already have mcfee antivirus. do i have a virus?
I have some old style black powder real muskets hanging on the wall of a vacation home for decor. They’re screwed on to the wall with brackets because I don’t want people pulling them down and playing with them cos they’re real.
There is no one in the house for few weeks, or months at a time. I’m wondering if this is a higher risk for people to want to steal, or not really? I’m wondering if I should just leave it or take it down.
The house is not completely isolated its in somewhat of a resort community with a few thousand people. There is an alarm system in the house, also a cleaning service cleans the place every couple of weeks.
I was thinking of also getting some cowboy guns or maybe WW2 guns to put up on the wall also, but I’m not sure.
The firing mechanism in the guns are disabled, but they are still real guns. But good point SCHMOOZIN.
Do I risk anything if someone else uses mine to set up their computer
a friend set up their computer with my security code and then took the computer home, does this pose any risk to me?
Whenever I go into windows 8 inprivate mode it tells me Windows has to close (even though it doesn’t) this has been going on for a while. Also, when I went to a website I go to frequently with no problems, Windows told me it didn’t open one of the pages because of a risk of malicious of malfunctioning add ons. I used both mcafee and windows new antivirus to scan for viruses and nothing came up.
Does anyone have any idea whats going on? Is it spywear?
Sorry I meant to say Windows Internet Explorer 8.
Yea it says data execution prevention , not protection like I said before. Sorry.
I heard a scientist say that we could temporarily stop global warming immediately if we shoot dust into the atmosphere. He said that the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 1991 placed a lot of dust in the air, which partially blocked out the sun over a large area, which in turn caused the average temperature of the earth to cool by about 1 degree Celsius. I think that this is a great idea. We could use a water soluble dust so that asthmatics will not be affected as badly. The dust will settle within a year, so there is no risk of permanent effects. We could keep doing this as often as needed until we choose to stop emitting greenhouse gases. The dust could be shot into the upper atmoshpere with a specially made cannon, or perhaps a rocket that explodes at the proper altitude. I think that we urgently need to pursue this idea, as the effects of global warming are alarming.

I have 50+GB worth of family videos and photos, so I want them on multiple DVD’s or one dual-layer Blu-ray disc. However, I don’t want to take that risk of burning the Blu-ray disc myself because I might not do it correctly and end up losing all my data…So, are there any services/websites/businesses out there that will do the backup for me, then send me the discs?
Thank you!
I have renters some of which may be theives. I also live in this house and own it. Is it legal for me to put invisible unknown security cameras in common areas (not bathrooms or bedrooms) with the risk that it may pick up a conversation that I was not personally privy to?
my computer says that my security is at risk , whats wrong ? and how can i fix it correctly?
My Question is simple why do people use internet explorer ?
Exploits and unpatched critical vulnerabilities put the users of Internet Explorer at risk 77 percent of the time last year, according to the latest number crunching by Brian Krebs of the Washington Post’s Security Fix blog.
Based on data published by Microsoft and interviews with researchers, Krebs found that critical security issues remained unpatched in Internet Explorer for 284 days during 2006. The Mozilla Foundation’s Firefox browser only suffered a single period of vulnerability lasting nine days, according to the analysis.

Background: Fundamentals, with an investing strategy out of the Graham playbook (by distressed, unloved or otherwise underpriced securities). Risk is minimized by having a margin of safety, higher upside than down, and by buying into companies that can be understood and predicted down the line.
However, finding a good opportunity tends to leave at least some cash floating around. Aside from dumping it into a placeholder stock like BRK.B, moneymarket, etc. I am interested in utilizing, to some small degree, daytrading.
Basically:
(1) How is risk managed in security day trading? Forex trading?
(2) Do the few successful traders operate by intuition or determinism?
(3) How wide of a scope to most traders take? Ten stocks? One hundred? All of them? Similarly, how wide of a scope do forex’ers employ?
(4) Is there a way to get a hold of raw market data, outside of the wacky software like eSignal, etc?
Please do not try and pitch a trading system. Thanks.
I have McAfee Security on my computer and a window keeps popping up that my computer and files are not protected. There is an option to "fix" the problem, which I have…then a little while later it is called to my attention again that it is at risk. What could be causing this? It has been happening repeatedly for a few days.
I heard a rumor that harddrives can have their information erased by going through an xray machine at the security checks, I believe this is false but I want to make sure or know if there are any other things I should be aware of to protect computer data that I may not know may be a risk.
I sure dont want to go back to California with an empty harddrive .

for things like global warming, when the risk of it could have terrible and deadly consequences for us. It seems to me to be like buying car insurance…we could at least begin to protect ourselves…it would be cheaper to start sooner and might not even affect our economy to the negative…so why don't we do something. Why are some people so unwilling to see scientific data or work so hard to find alternative and obscure data denying problems
is greed so much the factor that it will cause people to deny their grandchildren a decent planet as a legacy.
"john returns", you need to look at trends of the whole system and many more items other than this falls hurricane season…If Ted Kennedy had supported these windmills, would you have been against them. all Kennedy was saying was that these windmills could have been in a better place…I would have wanted them everywhere, even in my back yard if that is what it would take…Kennedy is only human and he was wrong in this situation.
the costs of environment fixes would certainly be passed on to the consumer, the corporations would not have to fund it ultimately
My virus and anti-spywear program had gotten out of date. (I know this is my fault) but by the time I noticed it, it was to late. Now the web page Security Center over-rides my home page and no matter what I do this page pops up. I new Icon showed up in my tool bar at the same time with a real annoying bubble that says I am at risk. I have tried disabling this icon but just keeps coming back everytime I start my machine. PLEASE HELP
I had my computer crash and when i installed windows xp durring that time i left a firewall on with maybe a couple exceptions but i didnt get the service pack 2 untill maybe a month later so i havent used a new firewall and i didnt use
any anti spyware software all i used was avg anti virus free edition and i know i downloaded many programs with spyware and stuff even i think a malware and the only security
i might have had is the fact that my computer is connected
through a wireless router which has a built in firewall and
also another ethernet router and a modem which im pretty sure
have built in firewalls do you think that durring that time my computer was protected enough or not ?
and i got a syware remover and i found like a shitload of tracking cookies and spyware that is labeled hi risk , at least
6 in the registry.
the problem is i typed many passwords and a credit card #
durring this time i didnt have the good protection and now im paranoid.
Also from adding stupid programs like limewire and other things that risk virus.
I did create an account for him and it's limited access. I think he opens the computer in safe mode or something. He's smart but has no respect.
My sister had fallen several times , the staff was aware of her risk of falling, they finally put alarm on her bed that did not work and she fell and hurt her head real bad. She went down hill after that and suffered with bed sores, did not get meds when she needed them and died about month later.
