I am currently using One Care Safety Scanner (Full Service Scan). And my ZoneAlarm Extreme Security scanned it and said it’s trojanware and is High risk. I went to Microsoft.com and downloaded the One Care Safety Scanner and on the same page theres a free Microsoft Security Essentials scanner which I downloaded. My ZoneAlarm Extreme Security is for some reason saying it’s "Trojanware". Heres what my ZoneAlarm said: "Backdoor.Win32.ServU-based was found in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Support\MPLog-03012010-142526.log on 3/1/2010 14:57:38". Any help is much appreciated thanks.

We went to a birthday party at a friend’s house, so I put a new sd camera card that I had bought but not opened in my coat pocket.

The next day we went in the farm store, which does not sell electronics or anything for cameras or computers. I set off the alarm. After the clerk took the bags back to desensitize them (mouse traps do not have sensor tags anyway) it was evident that it was my coat that was setting off the alarm. I explained it was either my photo chip or my insulin needles and I allowed the clerks (two of them by this time) to run my sd card near the scanner. It set off the alarm.

Clearly there was another store tag on the item. My husband still has the receipt somewhere probably at home.

One of the clerks said she would have to call the manager.

I have shopped at the farm store one or more times per week since it opened in 1977.

I told the clerk that she did not have to call the manager because the product was not from their store and so it did not concern him. I had a meeting that I had to be at shortly and would not be late because of this. And I left, got in the vehicle and left the store lot. My husband was with me.

My husband and daughters thought I was too nice, I thought the clerk pushed me into being really rude to her, I felt while justifiably perhaps, I was extremely rude.

What do you think?
Thanks everyone! I learned a lot from all of you!

Does "Change" include Upgrading Our National Security Methods?
Would Positive Identification of Foreigners Be Too Politically Incorrect to Do?
Would it make Sense to do Hand Scans of all Visa Applicants?
The veins in the hand are totally unique to each individual, and they don’t change. A scan can be digitized. That digital record can then be stored, transmitted, searched, and compared in real time to a newly generated scan.

So here’s a guy who wants to get on a plane. He puts his hand on the scanner. It generates a digitized record, which can then be compared to the hand scan record in his official documents, including his visa.

The stupid US State Department made a spelling error inputting Mr. Abdulmuttalab’s name into their computer, so they did not realize they had given him a visa. That’s why his visa was never cancelled.

With a digitized biometric measurement — you really do know who you are dealing with. You can be sure that the visa applicant is the same person as gets on the plane and is the same person that shows up in court and is the same person as goes to jail. All one person — all one scan — one set of numbers that becomes a part of all official documents generated about that person.

Without biometrics we have no idea who we are dealing with. It’s bad enough that we can’t tell our friends from our enemies, but that problem is greatly compounded if we can’t even identify the same human being two days in a row. We also can’t reliably search databases for a specific human being if we have no way to positively identify that specific human being.

This probably all seems like a detail. Not anything that anyone needs to care about. But if that’s not how you feel, then go ahead and print out this post and send it to your Congressman or Senator. If only a few hundred people on Capitol Hill had knowledge about the requirements of national security, then probably with three of four years there could be some marginal improvements. Within a few decades we could actually have a good system at State and DHS, assuming that 100% of the relevant Committee Chairmen became well-informed.

So, do your part if you think hand vein scans would make sense. Do you?
Note to Synful Visions:

The idea that not all terrorists fall into the Moslem foreigners mode was first proposed to me by Norm Mineta, and later by John English when you were in diapers riding on your tricycle.

Now I learn that no stupid idea ever dies, they always come round and round again, decades later, from the mouths of babes.

Yes, it is true that Tim McVeigh was not a moslem foreigner.

What’s also true is that 95% of the terrorists in the past ten year have been moslem foreigners.

So recognizing that connect is the path of reason.

We give more careful scrutiny to 23 year old males from Jordan than to 83 year old nuns from Australia.

Does this mean that some people get a pass and are not looked at?

No everyone is looked at.

Some with a higher level of detail.

Now comes this Synful person to tell me that if I ever take an interest in security matters maybe I can learn from him or his favorite author.

You see how brash people are today!

It´s simple, home tired of long working hours, got sleepe at 10 o´clock and the stupid alarm of my neighbor car sound every 10:30, 11:30 pm,(3 days of the week). It has a cheap dlls one, I told helm that I pay for the repair, but wont do it. So It´s there any REMOTE Keycharn or something that I can Scan, and STOP the damn Alarm. got Ebay account, got Paypal accout. A Scanner or brand will help me. On my quest of stopping the dam car alarm.

I stupidly downloaded winzix, despite all the alarm bells ringing it was an infected file, so i uninstalled it and deleted all the files (including the winzixmangager.dll left at the end) but now i’m worried there is still spyware or other malicious files left over.
I scanned my computer for any viruses already and nothing came up (my scanner is McAfee home version). So now i’m wondering is there anything left to do to make sure it’s completely rid of.

A few minutes ago I was trying to get on the website of a local tv station to read the news when all of a sudden this window pops up saying I had malware detected! Malware.2.1 I believe it was scanned the computer and said their was 75 threats detected and another window popped up to pay 39.99 to remove the malware. I don’t even know what malware is! Anyway I decided to go to my security on the computer and did a virus scan and it detected -0- threats. Am I okay? Do I need to purchase this "malware" stuff? I actually don’t really know what my computer has installed for such things but it is a XP professional version. Can anyone help me with this and explain a little bit about what I need to look for, watch out for, or settings in my security that I might need to adjust? What do I need to look for to make sure a site is safe to go on? I have kids and I might need something to make sure when they are on there that they don’t open something that they aren’t supposed to and let in a virus
Is a site called scanner.malware-scan.com okay? It says I should click on there to remove malware items.

Can we use the original working remote to duplicate a new remote. If it can, then how is it done. Can a scanner also programme the frequency a new remote and what is the cost of an average scanner.

Can someone please recommend a piece of security software which:

encrypts e-mails
encrypts data
Includes virus/worm/spyware scanner

Cheers
Blair
