So I have an iPod [I think the one before the Chromatic] and a Touch. My old iTunes wasn’t compatible I guess with the Touch so I downloaded the newest version. When it was done downloading, I clicked on the iTunes icon and it said ‘iTunes has stopped working’. ‘A problem cause the program to stop working correctly.’ Then, ‘To help protect your computer, Data Execution Prevention has closed iTunes.’

I looked up DEP and it says : Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs can try to attack Windows by attempting to run (also known as execute) code from system memory locations reserved for Windows and other authorized programs. These types of attacks can harm your programs and files.

DEP can help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they use system memory safely. If DEP notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you.

I have redownloaded iTunes multiple times and it won’t work.
Help me?

The spooler turns on but I then get this message when I try to print "Spooler Subsytem App stopped working and was closed- A problem cause the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available"
Then I get this…

Only problem is - The Windows XP account which they were stored in was protected with a password and the hard drive will not let me access it. Is there anywhere I can put in the password or any way around this security feature? Reinstalling the hard drive in the machine isn’t an option (its completely dead) Thanks!

I'm trying to play a game, Homeworld 2, but when I try to turn it on, Windows prevents it from activating, and gives the reason for it as Data Execution Prevention security feature. When I tried to deactivate Data Execution Prevention for Homeworld2.exe, it said that that file HAD to have Data Execution Prevention turned on, that I couldn't turn it off. Is there any way to totally remove it?

I was wondering if there was a way for me to be able to save the text I type into the fields of this document so I can change it at a later date if need be or a program that will remove this security feature

http://contacts.gsa.gov/webforms.nsf/0/21DBF5BF7E860FC185256E13005C6AA6/$file/sf330.pdf

go to page 9 of that link. That is where I need to type data in to and possibly change it later. Across the top of that link it tells me that "You cannot save data typed into this form". Any help is greatly appreciated.

My computer supports hardware-based DEP.

Is one traditionally better than the other or…?

I do know that DEP is a security feature in Windows that helps protect your computer from viruses and security threats.

Note: DEP = Data Execution Prevention

My friend passed away and his brother gave me his computer. When I turned the computer on it asked for login password as admin. It is on windows xp. I tried to boot from cd drive with my windows xp disk but I really dont want to wipe it out. Seems the CD drive isnt working anyway. It's a HP computer. So is there a way to bypass the login security feature without losing data?
