I recently brought a computer home from work. The security settings for our network are still on the machine. Consequently I can’t access the internet with this computer because windows continues to look for the network. Does anyone know how to remove these? It is not a stolen computer.
Actually this was my computer that i brought to the office in the first place. I own the company. I upgraded the workstations there and brought this one back to my house. I would rather not bring this box back to the office to reconfigure…but if I must I will.
Thank you all for your speedy answers.

Everytime i try to download something like a game or a document it says "youre current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded" what should i do?

"My security setting do not allow website to use ActiveX installed on your computer"…And I need to fix that to download a website. It’s really important and I need to right away. If anyone knows how to fix this please help me. I’ve tried everything in my security settings. Thank you!

I have been working as a computer tech for a few years, and normally when I have to do a data backup of someones hard drive when I cannot access windows via the hard drive’s original system, I plug it in thru a raid card on one of my diagnostic computers. I have also run into the issue of having to change the owner of the folder via the security settings in the folder properties. Now, if it were a functioning version of windows, prior to me fiddling with the security settings, will it still be able to understand and access the user’s folder if i had changed the owner of it to that of someone else on another computer?

I am trying to play a file i downloaded using the unplug program but windows media player says that my computers security settings wont allow it.

i tried to re-adjust the internet settings and security settings but it keeps saying "access denied". i trying to get into myspace.com or facebook.com and the only web proxy’s i know is slyuser.com and ztunnel.com and both websites are blocked. can anybody help me??

I’m trying to connect my Wireless-G Music to it, and I need the security settings to be the same, but I can’t find them anywhere for the router? Where do I find them?

it keeps shutting its self off and turning off certain security settings such as the protection against web threats and data theft prevention and when i restarted my comp it doesnt even want to start up any more can any one help please

My computer will not let me download anything! When i try to download firefox, opera, steam or anything at all it says Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded. i have tried EVERYTHING to fix it by going through tool options and restoring my computer to a past date and even messed with security settings. Somebody please help me!

I was able to decrypt the pdf file’s security settings but still, the .pdf file is only set to be Print, I can however fill up the forms but i cannot save them. I really need to save the data I filled in the pdf file, Is there a possible software that can make this file savable?
It has the only option of Print, you cannot save the data typed in the form, and i cannot contact the author who created this document.

I need to find my wep key for lynksis and i cant find the security settings can SOMEONE HELP!? THANKS
Where is the wep key number located in the security settings

First it told me that my page was old and I needed to refresh (or something like that). Then all I got was the new user page. When I clicked on already a user? sign in, I got a sign in box. When I typed in my ID and password, it just goes right back to the new user page. I cleaned the cache and deleted ALL cookies. In desperation, I uninstalled and reinstalled IE 6.0 to no avail. I still have to type in yahoo.com, get the new user page and the same thing happens.

My privacy and security settings are the same as they were when it was working. I have Zone Alarm security suite–had it for a year and do regular scans for viruses/spyware (I tried turning it off but made no diff). My yahoo home page works fine on Firefox. I have Windows 2000 on this PC. My yahoo home page works fine on my laptop in all browsers (running xp). This problem started last week. Does anyone know why or how to solve?

how do i stop my computer from showing a security alert that says "my current security settings do not allow me to download this file" what does this mean and how do i stop this so i can download ?

thank you

I have a blackberry pearl i bought off ebay, and its been working fine for the past month then yesterday i attempted to send a picture message and it has the clock signal not the red x next to it and i left it for 2 hours and it still had the same signal, i have the data plan or whatever, i used to be able to send picture messages but now i'm not able to i looked on my security settings and i do not have the IT thing, someone please help,

I encrypted files ( 7 GB all in all ) in one partition of my hard drive then for some reason Windows got corrupted and I tried to repair it using my Windows CD. During the repair, installation, there was an error keep on coming and repair was not possible, so I made a fresh installation on my C drive. The problem is I forgot to back up before doing so ( and since it might not work anyway because Windows was already corrupted at that time ), so after I installed Windows I can't open any more the files I encrypted. I tried to back it up first and then restore it removing the security settings but still it still green. I tried to open the properties, advanced, and uncheck the "encrypt contents to secure data" but when I click "apply" message access denied. I tried to add my new name to the list of "Users who can transparently access this file" by going to its properties, advanced and then details. I add my name but still I can't open. My certificate is okay and added to the Trusted.

My laptop was seriously damaged. I removed the H/D and put it in a USB caddy and opened it from another PC. I have been able to recover all the data I need, except for the data under my username in documents and setings due to the security settings on the folder, which I cannot change. Does anyone know of any way I can access the folder or even just the mydocuments piece of it ?

I bought a USED Playstation 3 from an electronics repair shop through eBay. It was sold as-is(video not working). I took care of that problem and now the PS3 runs almost like a normal one except that apparently it's XMB firmware operating system is a "Demonstration Mode" Version 1.02 watered down version (that is usually only used in PS3 store models) of the normal PS3 firmware. Most of the features are permanently locked away except for playing a cd or watching a DVD until I go to settings>(highlighting) Security Settings>(and press all at once) L2+R2+Select+Square. It removes the "Demo Mode sign" but it is still demo mode. I can play DVDs, CDs, BD, access the hard drive and play PS2 games. HOWEVER, I cannot play PS3 games because most (if not all) require firmware updates. No updating with internet, SD cards, changes my firmware (says no applicable data) but there has to be a way! It's a complete hardware sys, so it just needs the correct OS! Sony reps. won't give tech support for it
All I want is to be able to use the great system that I paid for. The electronics store didn't know much about it. They were selling it for parts only. (And I don't want any of this nonsense of "LOL, I guess you bought a stolen system because it wasn't new. You should've spent your money like the rest of us… crap." I have been buying new and used systems side by side without problems since I got my first Atari 2600 in the early 80's. I've owned most video game systems at one point or the other. But I have never had a "bogus" firmware keeping me from playing the games that the system was designed for. None of this "you're screwed dude!" crap either…just intelligent answers please.
Sony tech support claims that they don't know how to fix it although they sometimes get other customers with the same problem. Someone must know something. All I want is to make my system "normal"…nothing shady and no funny business. No mods.
Just the system the way Sony intends it…for better or for worse but functioning the way it is supposed to.
Do I even have to say none of this "check out this site or that site for free stuff…crap"
There will be none of it or you will be reported for spam abuse.
Once again…this is a USED PS3, it was bought on eBay from an electronics repair store. It's operating system looks the same as the other PS3's but it says that it is "Demonstration Mode" and looks like the OS that is found in stores. It will not play anything above a PS2 game because the firmware needs to be updated but the firmware will not update like it is supposed to. I have tried to updated it correctly every way that Sony says to do but it will not update.
Reformating the hard drive and doing a system reset, of course, will have no effect since firmware does not reside on the hard drive. The hard drive is for software.
I just want to be able to find out what the problem is so that I can update to firmware 1.90 and start playing my PS3 games I bought.

Several services have stopped running and I could not even have access to my e-mails and Messenger. I checked the security settings of my computer and everything is in order. My anti-virus software is always updated and when I scanned the computer system, there was no virus found. What will I do to get my system running again? There was a message that appeared that says, "Windows has closed this program to protect your computer." Name Generic Host process for WIN 32 Services.

Before my computer crashed, I had a total of ZERO pop-ups. Now I have them even when I don't have the internet window pulled up! How does that happen?!? I've gone through and changed the security settings a zillion times, trying different options. I have my internet through the cable company and before the crash, we would actually have to click on the IE icon on desktop to access the net. Now the only way to stop the pop-ups from coming through is to turn off the box. I really need some help on this, ya'll. I have Fix-It Utilities 6 installed and I've done virus scans and a number of other things to find the problem, but just when I think I've solved it…boom! Another pop-up. I can understand them while I'm online….but to have them offline too? Someone please help! I'm going crazy here! lol

It says that the security settings won't allow me to play a video I downloaded from Newgrounds.com. (I viewed page info, and saved the upload data) How do I change the security settings or just play the video I want?
