Every couple of minutes I’m closing one… then right after a microsoft error message pops up, when I close that out nothing happens and I continue on the internet.

seconds or minutes later it happens again… what’s the problem?
I’ve also ran multiple virus scans and have gotten nothing.

Before my computer crashed, I had a total of ZERO pop-ups. Now I have them even when I don't have the internet window pulled up! How does that happen?!? I've gone through and changed the security settings a zillion times, trying different options. I have my internet through the cable company and before the crash, we would actually have to click on the IE icon on desktop to access the net. Now the only way to stop the pop-ups from coming through is to turn off the box. I really need some help on this, ya'll. I have Fix-It Utilities 6 installed and I've done virus scans and a number of other things to find the problem, but just when I think I've solved it…boom! Another pop-up. I can understand them while I'm online….but to have them offline too? Someone please help! I'm going crazy here! lol

Lately I installed quite a number of updates and now my computer is totally slow. I do not have much Ram.
So is this due to these updates or maybe not?
I did run virus scans and defragmentation.
