What do you think is better?

I have both running on my system now and Zone Alarm detected a virus 2 seconds faster than NOD 32.

Has anyone one else tested these to or any 2 security system together?

I am looking for a third party firewall that offers solid protection & is user friendly, light on resources, etc.

My only hesitation is since I’m not very familiar with computers outside surfing the web, e-mail, basic programs, etc, I’m afraid that I will give access to bad "people" and programs. Like for instance, on the Zone Alarm and I’m sure other firewalls, the pop ups come up to ask if you want to accept or deny access. If they randomly come up, how do I be positive that the program is safe? If I said "ok" by accident, it’s then possible for pretty bad things to happen to my computer, correct?

Any input for a beginner would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you can suggest a user friendly, solid firewall that’s light on resources that would be great.

ah i am using zone alarm security suit 6.5 (latest version) and in msn messenger 8.0 i can’t see the display pics and custom emotion. when i install msn 7.5 it works fine but then aftera while it keeps disscnecting. and when i use zone alarm 6.1 with msn 8.0 it works fine .. so guyz do u have the same problem?

Okay, I’ve used both firewalls in the past, but I’m using Comodo Pro 3.0.2 at this time, since the Personal Version is no available.

Thing though is, I’m finding it too chatty, which is annoying to say the least. Mind you, so was Zone Alarm Pro, but perhaps a bit less.

I’ve done the research, and just want to know what others think between these 2 firewalls.

Hi, hope you can help? Whenever, Zone Alarm update starts, any program I am using i.e. when playin a game- the program crashes. What can I do to stop this happening?

Every time i try to download the zone alarm extreme security it tells me that i need to download service pack 1 and gives me a vista website to go to. I have windows 7 and I dont understand why its recognizing my system as vista

Ive just downloaded zone alarm and i have vista
i downloaded the right copy
now the icon i get is a red box with a yellow cross in it
also, on the zone alarm window it says in the top left
System Error: Please reboot
i tried restarting the computer but that didnt work and now im not sure what to do

Is zone alarm safe? It says I must unistall Mcafee andmy friend said I had to disable windows firewall. And do you guys think this is a safe firewall? And after it I am going to download AVG (I have avast too) for extra security. So is Zone Alarm safe?

The only way I know how to shut down zone alarm is if it shows up on my system tray and I can right click and select "shutdown" however, it is NOT showing up on the system tray somehow. Is there anyway I can turn off zone alarm? please help thank you

the last time I downloaded/tried to get a program from limewire I ended up with so many viruses that I eventually had to reinstall windows. I can’t recall if I had zone alarm at that time, but I know if I did that it probably gave me a warning and asked me if I wanted to run the limewire thing, and I chose yes. After this nothing happened for about a month, but then strange things began happening and I did a virus scan and I had about 7 viruses. It got so bad that I eventually had to reinstall windows. So anyway, what I basically want to know is, if I give zone alarm permission to allow a program to run, does this mean that zone alarm will not subsequently protect me from viruses in the program? Or will it still protect me from viruses even if I proceed with running the program?

The last couple days i have noticed that it has no updates in the
Firewall / Alerts & Logs / Log Viewer. It is empty. It had some entries from a week agok, so i cleared the list. Now it is just blank… but Zone Alarm appears to be working otherwise.. Why is this blank is it not working right? Usually i would have alot of blocks a day. Please get back to me thanks

I bought zone alarm and now that i try to use it it askes for a code so i enter it. and it says its expired and sends me a link to buy the program when i already had. What is wrong with it? Do i need to buy it again?!!!

what’s the Zone Alarm Pro product update service?
it is so wired when i found out this thing on my ZA pro
it says "Product update service expires in 51936 days"????
is it 51936days like = to 90 something yrs???

i have installed zone alarm personal firewall…………..but now i cannot access their website zonelabs.com(its needed for updates)…..the website never opens……….all other websites work fine……….am confused…….

On outlook, I used to have some kind of Zone Alarm Junk Email filter that REALLY helped out, but, unfortunatly, I restarted my computer and it dissapeared. I’ve googled everything I can think of, but cant seem to find it again. I do remember that I got it for free. Does anyone know the link?
adi- I already have zone alarm, but it doesnt have the email spam filter. Do you know where i can get that specific add-on?

g4acre- I went to both of those places, but when I went to downloads, then search ("zone alarm" spam filter) more than 400 applications came up, and I couldnt sort them by name (just relavance and date). Do you know the exact link?

i have zone alarm suite and it has integrated a operating system firewall and a internet firewall for me el operating system firewall(zonealarm) is the same as UAC it advises me of anything so it is fine if i disbale UAC?

im tired of UAC but i heard of some risks but i think the operatin system firewall from zone alarm does the job of UAC but less anoying

i HAD zone alarm…and things were FINE. it kept trying to get me to update and finally i did. something went wrong and it didn’t install, there was some error, i can’t remember what one. anyway, i uninstalled it and everything, even went to add/remove programs and it was gone. tried to download the free one again and it still ends up with an error. now i keep getting viruses and crazy IE pop-ups and i use firefox not IE. why won’t it just install again??
