zone alarm firewall conflicts avast antivirus?
does avast anti virus conflict with zone alarm firewall? if it does, what component of zone alarm does avast conflict with?

I use the two together without problems.
Basically, if you have one, the first time you install the other Avast lets you know that there is a conflict between some of the "Web Shield" and ZA due to overlapping protection.
Just disable that part of the Web Shield (hit Yes) and Avast will leave you alone from there, no problems.

Works fine with my AVAST
no conflicts.. got another machine downstairs wiv windows vista.. and avast antivirus & zone alarm.. no conflicts works gud..
make sure u get the latest versions thoe.. from both softwares.
I don’t know if AVAST and Zone Alarm conflict, but, if they do, check Program Control in Zone Alarm.
A friend who does web programming found that Zone alarm was, in her opinion, the best, however she found that various AVs conflicted with Zone Alarm, and she is very tight on her web security, so she shopped around for a good AV that worked with Zone alarm, and avast was not one of them
At one time Avast did have a conflict with the PRO version of ZoneAlarm only. I have successfully used Avast with the free ZA.
I do believe however that the issue with the PRO version has been resolved.
